This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

April 27

3:15 p.m.: Gavin Joseph Morris, 18, of the 600 block of East Broadway Boulevard, was issued a summons after officers investigated an incident of a door being kicked by a neighbor and determined it was an ongoing issue over city-owned trash cans. Officers found a neighbor got upset regarding the trash can dispute, striking or kicking the neighbor's door and damaging it. Morris was cited for destruction of property and advised to call the City and obtain a new trash can.

April 30

6:09 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to a business in the 1900 block of South Limit Avenue for a report of a stolen vehicle. The victim stated that between 3 and 5:30 a.m., someone had stolen her 2005 Toyota 4Runner SUV from her address in the 1600 block of West 11th Street. The vehicle is valued at $10,000. There were reportedly 25 silver quarters inside the vehicle with an estimated value of $125 and other miscellaneous items valued at $60. There are no suspects at this time. 

3:39 p.m.: Blake A. Hollon, 22, of Marshall, was arrested after a traffic stop for an equipment violation in the area of Broadway Boulevard and Emmett Avenue. The suspect consented to a search of his person. In the vehicle, the officer located a clear baggie with visible white residue. The suspect was detained and admitted to having marijuana inside the driver's door. Hollon was booked and released pending State charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

8:15 p.m.: Julie K. Herbst, 51, of the 300 block of East Saline Street, was issued a summons after officers responded to a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a report of a theft. Walmart asset protection and caught a suspect stealing $103.15 worth of merchandise. Herbst was arrested for the theft and released on a summons. 

9:49 p.m.: Veronica L. Simons, 22, of Mora, was arrested after a traffic stop on a vehicle failing to maintain its lane with expired plates in the area of West Broadway Boulevard and South Warren Avenue. It was determined the driver and occupant were in possession of drugs and paraphernalia. Both were transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked with a 24-hour hold for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. A state charge of driving without a valid license has been requested for Simmons. The occupant, Eric Wayne Brown, 30, of the 900 block of West Henry Street, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

May 1

12:39 a.m.: Thomas Mark Krumroy, 55, of the 1300 block of East of Boonville Road, was arrested after officers initiated a traffic stop for a vehicle with no front license plate. Krumroy was driving with a revoked driver’s license and was arrested, transported, and released from the police department with a City ticket for driving with a revoked driver's license.

11:17 a.m.: Shuntell K. Douglas, 39, of the 1000 block of East 10th Street, was arrested after officers were dispatched regarding a domestic assault that had just occurred. Both parties had attacked the other, though only one had injuries, resulting in the other being considered the primary aggressor. Douglas was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold for third-degree domestic assault.

4:16 a.m.: Wraymond J. Merriott Jr., 52, of the 1200 block of South Limit Avenue, was arrested after a traffic stop at South Sneed Avenue and West Broadway Boulevard on a car for an improper turn and failing to maintain its lane. A warrant check of the occupant revealed he had a Pettis County felony warrant. He was also found in possession of methamphetamine and was transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was placed on a 24-hour hold for felony possession of methamphetamine. 

4:53 p.m.: Misael Tello Cano, 26, of the 1700 block of East Sixth Street, was arrested after a vehicle stop at 16th Street and New York Avenue for speeding. The operator was found to have no driver's license and was arrested without incident. He was transported to the police station and released. 

7 p.m.: Ladonna M. Woolard, 20, of the 1800 block of South Park Avenue, was issued a summons after officers responded to a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a possible theft report. Management explained that the subject, who was on scene, was unable to pay for $297.67 worth of services. The business wished to pursue charges and the subject was issued a City summons for stealing.

8:17 p.m.: Stephen P. Davidson, 65, of Sedalia, was arrested after officers responded to Centennial Park in reference to a disturbance. Officers spoke with the caller who stated an older male was following her children around and trying to take photographs of them. Officers made contact with the suspect and arrested him for harassment. The suspect was transported to the Pettis County Jail for harassment.

8:46 p.m.: Rodger W. Lindsey, 35, of the 3600 block of South Kentucky Avenue, was arrested after officers responded to the 700 block of East Fifth Street for a report of a disturbance. One subject was arrested at the scene for peace disturbance and protective custody. Lindsey was transported to the Pettis County Jail and, after further investigation, was placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of second-degree assault and peace disturbance. 

10:44 p.m.: Emily Elizabeth Brackett, 21, of the 200 block of East Tower Street, was arrested after officers responded for a possible disturbance. A primary physical aggressor was identified and arrested. Brackett was transported to the Pettis County Jail and booked on charges of third-degree domestic assault and placed on a 24-hour hold. 

May 2

1:41 a.m.: Omar Lemus Rodriguez, 22, of La Monte, was arrested for driving while intoxicated after a vehicle stop in the area of Erica Avenue and West 32nd Street for moving violations and suspicion of impaired driving. He was arrested for driving while intoxicated and transported to the SPD for further testing and then released to a sober person. He was issued a citation for driving while intoxicated.

5:07 a.m.: William E. Lucas, 48, of the 1900 block of South Park Avenue, was arrested after a traffic stop for improper registration and no tail lights on the 100 block of East 16th Street. Lucas was also found to have a revoked driver’s license and was in possession of suspected meth. Lucas was transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was placed on a 24-hour hold pending the filing of charges. 

6:45 p.m.: A minor was issued a summons after a theft was reported in the SPD lobby. The complainant reported that two subjects stole multiple sets of magic cards worth $399.78 from a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard the evening of April 29. Both subjects were identified during an investigation. A suspect was arrested for stealing and released on a municipal summons. 

8:01 p.m.: Lindsey R. Adams, 32, of Sedalia, was arrested after officers responded to a subject check in a business parking lot in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard. The vehicle was stolen. Adams was arrested for first-degree tampering with a motor vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and four outstanding warrants. She was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.

May 3

2 a.m.: Gary D. Horn, 36, of Green Ridge, was arrested after officers were dispatched to the 500 block of North Quincy Avenue for a disturbance. Horn had forced entry into the front door of the residence and assaulted the homeowner. He was arrested for first-degree burglary, third-degree aggravated assault, property damage and violation of an ex-parte order. Horn was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.

5:01 a.m.: Emilio Ax Xol, 46, of the 1600 block of South Park Avenue, was arrested after a traffic stop near the intersection of East 16th Street and Thompson Avenue for no driver’s license. He was transported to the SPD, processed, and released.

Incidents

April 30

6:38 p.m.: Officers responded to the 1800 block of East 6th Street for a property damage report. The victim said one of his vehicle’s windows had been damaged. There was observable damage to the window and the victim wished to pursue charges. 

8:19 p.m.: An officer took a report from a victim who lives on the 900 block of West 5th Street in regard to a theft. The victim stated she'd fallen for a scam in which the suspect is using her identity in an attempt to get a loan.

May 1

9:11 a.m.: An officer met with the reporting party in the McDonald's parking lot, 2482 Stacey Lane, who said a gun was pulled after a verbal disturbance in the lot. The suspect and vehicle had left the area. No charges were being sought by the victim and the vehicle has not been located. 

9:22 p.m.: An officer took a report of theft over the phone. The caller stated someone had stolen the stove from outside her residence on the 600 block of East 16th Street. 

10:32 a.m.: An officer responded to the 300 block of McAnally Court for a well-being check. On arrival, a subject appeared to be in a non-responsive state as seen through the window. Officers were unable to wake the subject and entry was forced through the window. Pettis County Ambulance District responded to the scene and transported the subject to Bothwell Regional Medical Center. 

10:58 a.m.: A victim reported to the SPD that someone stole medication, money, and their cell phone sometime overnight. At the time of the report, there was no suspect information.

7:55 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of West Johnson Street in reference to a theft that happened on April 28. A cell phone was left at Hubbard Park and was not in the same place where it was left.

May 2

1:20 a.m.: Officers responded to the 1500 block of South Grand Avenue for a domestic disturbance. Officers were informed that the suspect had assaulted his wife and then fled the scene. The victim sustained a minor injury and was not medically treated. The incident is still under investigation. 

1:34 p.m.: An officer spoke with a subject in the SPD lobby who was paid with a counterfeit $10 bill. The complainant said she works for a transportation company and picked up a fare at 1010 Thompson Boulevard earlier that day and the subject reportedly paid with a $10 bill and left. The suspect was described as a short white male with a bald head and beard, tattoos on his arms, and a brace on his left arm. At the time of the report, the suspect had not been located.

Arrests

April 30

7:30 p.m.: An unnamed female was arrested after a deputy was dispatched to a business in the 3000 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a male that had been stabbed. Sedalia police officers had the victim, and while en route to the business, the deputy was advised Pettis County Ambulance District was transporting the victim to Bothwell Regional Health Center. The deputy made contact with the female at her residence and took her into custody for domestic assault. She's being held in the Pettis County Jail pending charges.

11:35 p.m.: Madison Boersma, of Sedalia, was issued a summons after a traffic stop at Oak Grove Lane and Wisconsin Avenue for lane violations. An odor of marijuana led to a probable cause search. Boersma was issued a summons for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. 

May 3

12:28 a.m.: Erika Dyzubenko, of Sedalia, was issued a summons after deputies observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed near U.S. 65 and 50 Highway in Sedalia. Deputies activated their radar unit and received the speed of 63 miles per hour in a 35 mile-per-hour area. Dyzubenko was issued a summons for operating a motor vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner. 

Incidents

April 30

10:30 p.m.: Deputies took a report for a minor assault that occurred in the 3000 block of Brooking Park Avenue. 

May 1

2:57 p.m.: Deputies responded to the 200 block of East Olive Street in La Monte in reference to a burglary not in progress. As of this time, no suspects have been identified. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Pettis County Sheriff's Office.

May 2

10:14 a.m.: Deputies responded to the area of South Grand Road near the iron bridge for a report of illegal dumping of animal carcasses. 

Noon: Deputies took a missing person report from the 3000 block of Brooking Park Avenue. The missing person was located shortly thereafter.

6:15 p.m.: A deputy was dispatched to the 1400 block of Elm Hills Boulevard on a theft report. The reporting person stated that at about 6:15 p.m. someone took her son's bicycle. The bike was valued at $300.

April 29

4:41 p.m.: Scott A. Kaczor, 22, of Strongsville, Ohio, was arrested in Saline County for felony possession of a controlled substance. He was processed and released.

April 30

12:35 p.m.: Anyel Zambrana Garcia, 27, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, was arrested in Saline County for driving while intoxicated (prior offender), no driver’s license, and speeding. Garcia was transported to the Saline County Jail and released.

4:35 p.m.: Joseph J. Fuelling, 43, of North Kansas City, Missouri, was arrested in Morgan County for felony driving while intoxicated (persistent offender) and was transported to Morgan County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.

May 1

6:10 p.m.: Jackson L. Bonnell, 24 of Gravois Mills, was arrested in Moniteau County for careless and imprudent driving involving an accident, operating a motorcycle without a motorcycle endorsement, no insurance, and driving while intoxicated. Bonnell was transported to Lake Regional Hospital and released.

May 2

8:11 p.m.: Christopher S. Songer, of Crescent, Oklahoma, was arrested in Morgan County for felony resisting arrest, misdemeanor leaving the scene of a motorcycle crash, and felony possession of a stolen vehicle. Songer was transported to Morgan County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.

11:17 p.m.: Eddie Hernandez, 26, of Reedley, California, was arrested in Pettis County for driving while intoxicated, no valid driver’s license and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway. He was transported to Pettis County Jail and released.
