Washington Post 218 and Creve Coeur Post 397 won their first-round matchups in the Missouri Triple-A state baseball tournament on Thursday night at Liberty Park Stadium-Dey Field.
Washington beat Springfield Hillcrest 6-1 — Hillcrest replaced Joplin in the tournament because the latter didn’t have enough players available — and Creve Coeur beat Independence Post 21 8-1.
