bringing in around $5,000 last year. Kirk said 172 people, including some repeats, had stopped by the truck in the parking lot of Thompson Hills Shopping Center by early afternoon. The sale ran through 7 p.m. Friday.

Simmons said she has worked the sale for the last 13 years, and reported that Friday was “a very good day.” Kirk said the campaign overall is “going very well” and noted that donations are on par with the same time last year. “We are feeling pretty good about how it is coming together,” Kirk said.
