Kids have a ball of fun at Sedalia Parks and Recreation Snowball Drop

Four-year-old Cole Hoehns waited at the edge of the field Saturday at Clover Dell Park as a small airplane swooped low overhead, releasing a flurry of some 6,000 pingpong balls.

With the blast from an air horn, Hoehns, of Smithton, and about 100 other area youth made a mad dash across the field in an attempt to find 30 green balls — a valuable prize that earned those lucky enough to find them a book of 10 free passes to Centennial and Liberty Park pools this summer as part of the second annual Sedalia Parks and Recreation Snowball Drop.
