Smith-Cotton High School recognizes students’ achievements at ceremony

Smith-Cotton High School held its annual Academic Academy Awards ceremony Thursday. Special recognition was given to students in the form of Citizenship, Leadership and Terrific Tiger Awards. Students were also individually recognized for high school achievement earned during the fall semester of the 2010-11 school year. A wide variety of accomplishments were announced including: A and B Honor Roll, Perfect Attendance, Academic Letter and Bar, Top 25 in Class, Class Officer, National Honor Society, Boys State and Girls State Nominee, Missouri Fine Arts Academy Nominee, Hugh O’Brien Leadership Academy Nominee, Missouri Scholars Academy Nominee, Sophomore Pilgrimage Nominee, Rotary Youth Leadership Award and S.T.A.N.D. Exceptional Teen.

The Citizenship Award is given to a student who has contributed to the well-being of the school and the community as well as served as a positive role model for the student body.
