State Fair Butter Cow

Janice Hargrave, an art instructor at Washington Elementary and Horace Mann Elementary schools, works in the detail for the Mooo-na Lisa, the 2012 Missouri State Fair butter cow Sunday afternoon in the Gerken Dairy Center at the fairgrounds. "We want to tie something dairy to something educational," said Hargrave, who is being assisted on the project by her brother, Sedalia artist Scott Linsenbardt. Hargrave believes humor is always a crowd pleaser and drew some of her inspiration from cartoonist Gary Larson, known for portraying cows in comical lifelike situations.
