Members of the Smith-Cotton FBLA Chapter attended the District 10 Leadership Conference at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg on Feb. 10. Forty members entered competitive events and 17 placed 10th or higher in their event.

Smith-Cotton High School held its annual Academic Academy Awards ceremony Thursday. Special recognition was given to students in the form of Citizenship, Leadership and Terrific Tiger Awards. Students were also individually recognized for high school achievement earned during the fall semester of the 2010-11 school year. A wide variety of accomplishments were announced including: A and B Honor Roll, Perfect Attendance, Academic Letter and Bar, Top 25 in Class, Class Officer, National Honor Society, Boys State and Girls State Nominee, Missouri Fine Arts Academy Nominee, Hugh O’Brien Leadership Academy Nominee, Missouri Scholars Academy Nominee, Sophomore Pilgrimage Nominee, Rotary Youth Leadership Award and S.T.A.N.D. Exceptional Teen.
