Virgil Skaggs, of Katy Manor in Pilot Grove, will celebrate his 96th birthday with a family party.
He was born Feb. 4, 1922, and was married to the late Irene Skaggs.
Virgil is retired from the Missouri Pacific Railroad.
He has two children, Rita Sue Kanenbley, of Syracuse, and Richard Skaggs, of Swansea, Illinois; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
