Durham School Services, a leader in student transportation, will begin new partnerships in Missouri with the Smithton R-VI School District in the fall and the Tipton R-VI School District this summer. Missouri's oldest restaurant, the J. Huston Tavern in Arrow Rock, was reported to have to closed in March. However, it has been given a second chance with the formation of the nonprofit organization the J. Huston Tavern Society and a partnership with the Missouri State Parks Department.

The Boys & Girls Club of West Central Missouri recently received a $30,000 grant from the Taco Bell Foundation to support youth in Sedalia and surrounding areas. The funds will go toward its Path To Success program and other programs that educate and inspire the next generation of leaders.

Friday evening, June 7, emergency crews rushed to the Tyson Feed Mill, 22749 state Highway T in Sedalia, for an emergency call. At least one of the grain silos at the Dresden facility had sustained catastrophic damage, with gaping holes allowing tons of grain to spill, damaging a building and causing an unknown liquid to spread across the parking lot.
