This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

March 29

1:10 p.m.: Quinton N. Gano, 36, of California, was arrested on charges of leaving the scene of an accident and not having proof of insurance. An officer spoke over the phone with a complainant, who said a man rear-ended her vehicle while she was stopped on West Broadway Boulevard and Thompson Boulevard. She and the striking driver pulled into a private lot and exchanged information before going their separate ways. She said she has since discovered the man gave her false information. The officer is seeking state charges against the suspect.

April 4

11:25 p.m.: Claybourn C. Shafer, 43, of Gravois Mills, was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated, driving with a revoked license, felony resisting arrest, improper lane usage, and failure to register annually with the Department of Revenue. An officer stopped Shafer’s vehicle near South Limit Avenue and Plaza Avenue. Following investigation at the scene, the officer took Shafer into custody. A search warrant was executed a short time later, allowing the officer to obtain a sample of Shafer’s blood for testing. The suspect was then taken to the Pettis County Jail.

Incidents

April 4

8:55 a.m.: An officer responded to the 800 block of Ruth Ann Drive for a report of property damage. The complainant said someone keyed her vehicle between 6 p.m. the day before and 8 a.m. that morning. The victim estimated the damage to be about $600. The officer had one suspect at the time of the report.

April 5

2:20 a.m.: Officers responded to the 200 block of Rainbow Drive for a report of a disturbance. Two intoxicated men had gotten into an argument that turned physical. After separating, one of the men attempted to reposition a gun in his waistband. In doing so, the gun fired and struck him in the right leg. He was taken to University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia with non-life-threatening injuries. The officer is submitting state charges against him.

Arrests

April 4

3:35 p.m.: Daniel S. Schneider, 32, of Sacramento, California, and Kenneth E. Mosley, 33, of Olivehurst, California, were arrested in Saline County on a charge of delivery of a controlled substance.

11:45 p.m.: Bryan P. Hanrahan, 32, of Columbia, was arrested in Pettis County on charges of driving while intoxicated and driving with a suspended license.
