Arrests

March 29

1:40 p.m.: Season T. Lesoy, 47, of the 400 block of West Fourth Street, was arrested on a charge of driving with a suspended license. An officer found Lesoy’s license was suspended after stopping his vehicle for speeding on Oak Grove Lane just north of West Main Street.

3:30 p.m.: Charles W. McMroskey, 34, of the 300 block of West Seventh Street, was arrested on a charge of driving with a suspended license. An officer confirmed McMroskey’s license was suspended after stopping his vehicle for speeding near East 16th Street and South Engineer Avenue.

4:45 p.m.: Joshua M. Keith, 38, of Kansas City, was arrested on a charge of driving with a suspended license. Dispatch confirmed Keith’s license was suspended after an officer stopped his vehicle near East 11th Street and South Marvin Avenue for no registration.

March 30

2:40 p.m.: Michail R. Cowherd, 28, of the 3500 block of South Grand Avenue, was arrested on charges of felony third-degree domestic assault, felony resisting arrest, third-degree assault on a law enforcement officer, careless and imprudent driving, felony leaving the scene of an accident, operating a vehicle without a valid license, and not having proof of insurance. An officer was dispatched to the area of East Sixth Street and South Washington Avenue for a report of a physical fight. The officer attempted to make contact with Cowherd, but he took off driving and nearly struck the officer with his vehicle. The officer determined Cowherd had assaulted and injured a woman. A vehicle pursuit ensued, but officers lost sight of Cowherd’s vehicle. He reportedly continued to drive recklessly through town and collided with another vehicle. Cowherd fled on foot, but an officer in the area was able to catch and arrest him.

March 31

4 a.m.: Corey Jamiel Grigsby, 37, of the 1100 block of South Lamine Avenue, was arrested on a charge of driving with a revoked license. An officer stopped a vehicle in the area of West Broadway Boulevard and South Kentucky Avenue. He spoke with the driver, Grigsby, and two occupants. A computer check through dispatch showed Grigsby had a revoked license and an active felony child support warrant.

10 a.m.: Benito Rodriguez-Ubaldo, 44, of the 1300 block of South Grand Avenue, received a municipal court summons for a charge of animals running at large. Officers responded to Rodriguez-Ubaldo’s residence for a report of an aggressive dog. The caller said the dog had grabbed her dog by the neck, causing it to yelp with no signs of injury. The officers found and secured the dog. Neighbors identified the residence where the dog belonged. The officers issued Rodriguez-Ubaldo a municipal court summons and arrested him on a failure to appear warrant.

10:20 a.m.: Michael Lee Ollison, 43, of the 1800 block of East 12th Street, was arrested on a charge of driving with a suspended license. An officer stopped Ollison’s vehicle at South Massachusetts Avenue and East Seventh Street for expired registration. Dispatch informed the officer that Ollison had a suspended license and a parole violation warrant.

12:20 p.m.: Jesus Cardiel, 47, of Marshall, was arrested on a charge of driving with a suspended license. An officer found Cardiel’s license was suspended after stopping his vehicle in the area of South Carr Avenue and West Broadway Boulevard.

3:50 p.m.: Susan Lynn Campbell, 59, of the 1500 block of East Fifth Street, received a municipal court summons for a charge of public peace disturbance. An officer responded to the 1500 block of East Fifth Street for a report of a disturbance. The complainant said her neighbor, Campbell, yelled at her and used offensive language. The officer issued Campbell a municipal court summons.

9:40 p.m.: Miguel Angel Zaragoza, 51, of Sedalia, was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. An officer stopped Zaragoza at East Fifth Street and South Hancock Avenue for walking in the roadway when a sidewalk was available. Zaragoza reportedly provided a false name, and the officer was unable to identify him. The officer took him into custody for walking in the roadway and found methamphetamine and a related pipe on his person. He discovered Zaragoza’s true identity and took him to the Pettis County Jail.

11:15 p.m.: Chelsea Rene Patterson, 28, of the 1800 block of South Lamine Avenue, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of identity theft. An officer stopped a vehicle with no functioning license plate lights in the area of West 16th Street and South Osage Avenue. He spoke with the driver and a passenger. Investigation revealed the passenger, Patterson, had provided a false identity. Once the officer discovered her real identity, he found she had an active failure to appear warrant from Benton County. He took her into custody on the warrant and a new charge of identity theft.

Incidents

March 30

12:05 p.m.: An officer stopped a vehicle for no registration near East 19th Street and South Ingram Avenue. A computer check through dispatch showed the driver had a suspended license. The officer issued a municipal court summons.

6:50 p.m.: Officers responded to a business in the 3200 block of West 16th Street. A subject stated someone stole his wallet out of the business after he left it there on accident. The value of the items stolen totaled to about $500. The officer had not identified suspects at the time of the report.

March 31

7:05 p.m.: An officer spoke with a complainant in reference to a vehicle theft. She stated a subject she knows stole her 2007 Jeep while it was parked at a business in the 2600 block of West Broadway Boulevard.

Arrests

April 1

1:05 a.m.: James J. Baker, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of peace disturbance and minor visibly intoxicated. Deputies took Baker into custody in the 6600 block of East U.S. Route 50 and found he had a blood alcohol content above .02 percent.

3:10 p.m.: Carlos Manuel Flores, of Sedalia, was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated, resisting arrest, careless and imprudent driving, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and excessive unnecessary noise from a motor vehicle. Deputies attempted to stop Flores near U.S. Route 50 and Montgomery Avenue for excessive unnecessary noise coming from his vehicle. Flores accelerated at a high rate of speed and failed to yield to the deputies. They pursued his vehicle at 100 mph down U.S. 50. Flores turned south on Route M and continued at a high rate of speed, shutting off his headlights. He attempted to turn onto McVey Road but was traveling too fast to make the turn. He came to a stop just south of McVey Road where deputies took him into custody.

Incidents

April 2

9:05 a.m.: The Sheriff’s Office received a report of concerns over possible sexual abuse of four white female juveniles by an adult man, a person the girls know. The incident is under investigation.

Arrests

March 30

9 p.m.: Jason T. Yeager, 39, of Holden, was arrested in Johnson County on a charge of fourth-degree domestic assault.

March 31

1:50 a.m.: Bailey Bennett, 17, of Cross Timbers, was arrested in Benton County on charges of driving while intoxicated, minor in possession of alcohol, failure to drive on the right half of the roadway and not having insurance.

11:35 p.m.: Jacob R. Zimmerman, 21; Jacob R. Winters, 21; and Anthony L. Anzelmo, 22, all of Columbia, were arrested in Saline County on charges of misdemeanor possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of felony possession of a controlled substance.

11:35 p.m.: Connor L. Davis, 22, of Columbia, was arrested in Saline County on charges of misdemeanor possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to signal and three felony counts of possession of a controlled substance.
