This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

April 18

8:20 a.m.: Seth E. Hull, 30, of the 1300 block of South Osage Avenue, was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle without a valid license. An officer observed a vehicle traveling without license plates on West 16th Street. He caught up to the vehicle as it pulled into a gas station parking lot. The officer read the driver’s information to dispatch, who advised the driver, Hull, didn’t have a valid license.

3 p.m.: Cornelius Antwane Read, 33, of the 1800 block of South Sneed Avenue, and Samuel Aaron Bartlett, 34, of the 1800 block of South Sneed Avenue, received municipal court summonses for a charge of private peace disturbance. Officers responded to the 100 block of East Chestnut Street for a report of a disturbance. The complainant said suspects made threats about him moving out of the residence. The officer issued the suspects municipal court summonses.

April 19

1:50 a.m.: Shane Todd Elmer Kreisel, 41, of the 400 block of West Main Street, was arrested on a charge of driving with a revoked license. An officer stopped Kreisel’s vehicle for improper registration. A computer check through dispatch showed he had a revoked driving status.

Incidents

April 17

10:20 p.m.: A subject came into the police station lobby to report an assault that occurred earlier that day. She said a suspect assaulted her by hitting her with a belt. She also said she was held against her will before being able to get out of the home. The officer had not contacted the suspect at the time of the report.

April 18

7 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 1100 block of South Harding Avenue for a child investigation. The complainant said someone was communicating with his child on a messaging application and requested inappropriate photos of the child.

April 19

10:35 a.m.: Jessie L. Jennings, 36, of Eldon, was arrested in Morgan County on charges of driving with a revoked license and not wearing a seat belt. Troopers also served a felony warrant for the out-of-state fugitive from Johnson County.
