This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

April 22

1 a.m.: Thomas W. Bentley, 61, of the 800 block of West Third Street, was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated, driving with a suspended license and failure to register annually with the Missouri Department of Revenue. An officer stopped Bentley’s vehicle near West Fifth Street and South Harrison Avenue. Following investigation at the scene, he placed Bentley under arrest.

2:30 a.m.: Gabriela Pascual, 18, of the 500 block of West Sixth Street, was arrested on charges of misdemeanor identity theft and driving with a suspended license. An officer conducted an investigative stop on Pascual’s vehicle near West Main Street and Metallic Lane. He found Pascual had a suspended license and several warrants from Sedalia and Pettis County. While speaking with her, Pascual reportedly attempted to provide her friend’s information. When the officer confirmed her true identity, he arrested her on the warrants and the two new charges.

3:35 a.m.: Margarito Quetzecua-Ubaldo, 31, of the 1900 block of West Fifth Street, was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated. An officer stopped a vehicle in the area of South Ingram Avenue and East 19th Street for improper lane use. The officer spoke with the driver, Quetzecua-Ubaldo, and explained he suspected him of driving while intoxicated. He asked Quetzecua-Ubaldo to perform standard field sobriety tests, and he reportedly did poorly on the exercises. The officer arrested him and brought him to the police station for further investigation. A breath sample showed he was over the legal limit of .08.

11:35 p.m.: Marie C. Couch, 39, of the 1800 block of South Kentucky Avenue, was arrested on charges of felony third-degree assault and misdemeanor stealing motor vehicle parts. An officer responded to the area of South Kentucky Avenue and West 19th Street for a disturbance. Following investigation at the scene, he arrested Couch on an assault charge. He later reportedly found Couch had also taken the complainant’s keys. The complainant suffered minor injuries and did not receive treatment.

April 23

1:10 am.: Jose Luis Corona-Rea, 29, of the 3100 block of Brianna Boulevard, was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated. An officer stopped Corona-Rea’s vehicle in the area of West Main Street and South State Fair Boulevard for improper lane use. While explaining the reason for the stop, the officer suspected the driver of being intoxicated and asked him to step out of the vehicle. Corona-Rea reportedly performed poorly on standard field sobriety tests, and the officer brought him to the police station for further investigation. He provided a breath sample above the legal limit of .08.

5:10 a.m.: Amy Irene Clark, 39, of the 1000 block of South Monroe Avenue, was arrested on a felony charge of endangering the welfare of a child. Officers were dispatched to the 900 block of East 13th Street for a disturbance. They spoke with several subjects, who said Clark was out of control and tearing up her residence. The older brother of the reported victim took the victim from the residence. The brother told officers that Clark jumped in the back of the truck they were traveling in and rode in the bed until they arrived at her sister’s residence. When they arrived at the residence, the brother took the reported victim into the home, and Clark’s sister locked the door. Clark reportedly kicked the door open and attempted to pull the victim from her sister’s arms. Officers placed her under arrest on a child endangerment charge.

10:20 a.m.: Bernabe Estrada-Gonzalez, 59, of the 500 block of North Quincy Avenue, received a municipal court summons for a charge of driving without an operator’s license. An officer stopped Estrada-Gonzalez’s vehicle for a defective brake light near South Grand Avenue and La Grand Drive. The officer found Estrada-Gonzalez didn’t have a driver’s license, and he couldn’t positively identify him without proper identification. He arrested Estrada-Gonzalez and brought him to the police station for fingerprinting before issuing him a municipal court summons.

10:25 a.m.: Dylan Michael Keele, 21, of the 1200 block of South Harrison Avenue, was arrested on a charge of driving with a suspended license. An officer stopped Keele’s vehicle after noticing the car was registered to a suspended driver. He approached Keele and confirmed he was the registered owner. The officer then placed Keele under arrest and brought him to the police station. He was later released with a municipal court summons.

11:05 p.m.: Amanda Ann Teiberis, 29, of the 700 block of East 16th Street, was arrested on a charge of possession of a controlled substance. An officer stopped Teiberis’ vehicle for not having any license plates in the area of West Ninth Street and South Vermont Avenue. A computer check through dispatch showed she had an active probation violation warrant from Pettis County. The officer arrested Teiberis on the warrant and called a K-9 unit to sniff her vehicle. The police dog alerted to the vehicle, and a subsequent search revealed methamphetamine.

11:05 p.m.: Cheryl L. Milburn, 63, of the 600 block of North Grand Avenue, was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated. Officers stopped Milburn’s vehicle near North Grand Avenue and West Morgan Street. They took her into custody after determining she was intoxicated.

April 24

8:30 a.m.: Dustin J. Simmons, 32, of Versailles, was arrested on a charge of driving with a suspended license. An officer found Simmons’ license was suspended after stopping his vehicle on East 14th Street at South Montgomery Avenue. He placed him under arrest and took him to the police station, where he was released with a municipal court summons.

8:30 a.m.: Jose L. Romero, 21, of the 1400 block of South Harrison Avenue, was arrested on a charge of not having an operator’s license. An officer stopped Romero’s vehicle near West 14th Street and South Osage Avenue for disobeying a stop sign. The officer ran Romero’s information through dispatch and learned he didn’t have a driver’s license. He also found Romero had two prior convictions for not having an operator’s license.

10:10 a.m.: Andrew J. Shaw, 34, of the 400 block of North Park Avenue, was arrested on felony charges of possession of a controlled substance and stealing. An officer was dispatched to a business in the 100 block of East Broadway Boulevard to investigate a reported theft of prescription medications. He spoke with the reporting party and suspect before taking Shaw into custody.

Incidents

April 22

10:20 a.m.: An officer spoke to a complainant in the police station lobby about a stolen vehicle report. The complainant said someone stole a Ford Explorer from his niece, who primarily drives the vehicle, while she was at a residence in town. At the time of the report, the officer had no suspect information.

3:05 p.m.: A complainant came to the police station to make a report. He said his son demanded the keys to a truck, and when he didn’t hand them over, his son flipped over the cot the complainant was laying on and forcibly searched his clothing. When the son didn’t find the keys, he pushed a computer monitor and a printer onto the floor, damaging both items. The complainant is requesting prosecution.

7 p.m.: An officer responded to Katy Park for a report of suspicious activity in a vehicle at the park. The officer made contact with four juvenile occupants in the vehicle and reportedly found marijuana. The officer released the juveniles to their parents. He is referring a charge of possession of marijuana on all four to the Pettis County Juvenile Office.

Incidents

April 22

9:05 p.m.: Deputies investigated the theft of a motorcycle from the 15000 block of Farmer’s City Road. The investigation is ongoing.

April 23

1:40 p.m.: A woman came to the Sheriff’s Office to report a Pettis County R-12 student assaulted her while she was working at the Dresden school. A deputy will refer the matter to the Pettis County Juvenile Office.

12:50 p.m.: Deputies received a report of an altercation over property in the 29000 block of McCormick Road. During the altercation, one of the subjects displayed a pistol and fired a single round before fleeing from the area. No injuries or damage were reported from the altercation. The Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.

3 p.m.: Deputies took a report of a theft of a generator and ladder from a property in the 27000 block of Hughesville Road. The deputies had no leads or suspects at the time of the report.

Arrests

April 22

2:35 a.m.: Charles D. Hoffman, 21, of Trenton, was arrested in Johnson County on charges of driving while intoxicated and speeding.

4 a.m.: Blake M. Moore, 21, of Kearney, was arrested in Johnson County on charges of driving while intoxicated and failure to drive within a single lane.

7:15 a.m.: Brent A. Barker, 32, of Harrisonville, was arrested in Johnson County on charges of felony driving while intoxicated, driving with a revoked license and failure to drive on the roadway.

April 23

10:20 a.m.: Patrick L. Heiland, 46, of High Point, was arrested in Moniteau County on a charge of failure to maintain capable brakes on a commercial vehicle. Troopers also served a Cole County misdemeanor warrant.

11:25 p.m.: Nathaniel J. Knapp, 20, of Sedalia, was arrested in Johnson County on charges of driving while intoxicated and lane violation.
