Arrests

Aug. 9

4:40 a.m.: Darren Alexander Morey, 22, of Hughesville, was arrested on a charge of driving with a suspended license. Officers saw Morey driving west on East 16th Street with expired license plates. He turned into a parking lot near East 17th Street and South Lafayette Avenue where officers made contact with him. They found he had a suspended driver’s license and took him into custody.

9:15 a.m.: Brenden Baldwin, 22, of the 1600 block of West Ninth Street, received a municipal court summons for a charge of animals running at large. An officer responded to the 1600 block of West Ninth Street for a dog running loose and chasing people. He located the dog, talked with neighbors and determined the dog had been out off and on for the past two days. Neighbors pointed out the residence where they thought the dog belonged. After some time, the officer was able to secure the dog in his vehicle and contact the owner, Baldwin, who received a summons.

5:30 p.m.: Juan S. Bermeo, 23, of Atlanta, Georgia, was arrested in Morgan County on charges of driving while intoxicated and failure to place a vehicle in park as near to the right side of the roadway as practical.
