This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Aug. 28

2:10 a.m.: Thomas J. McIntyre, 29, of the 400 block of East 13th Street, was arrested on charges of felony leaving the scene of an accident and driving while intoxicated. Officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of South Washington Avenue for a motor vehicle crash involving a house. Officers arrived and found moderate damage to the house that a westbound pickup truck caused when it drove off the street and struck the residence. The driver, McIntyre, reportedly fled the truck on foot. A witness chased him and located him two blocks away. After an investigation, officers found McIntyre was reportedly driving the truck while intoxicated. They obtained a search warrant for a blood draw to determine his blood alcohol concentration level.

6 p.m.: Anthony Peter Torgayev, 20, of the 8100 block of West 32nd Street, received a municipal court summons for charges of public peace disturbance and assault. Luybeem Vyacheslavic Sidinskiy, 19, of the 17000 block of Fristoe Road, received a municipal court summons for charges of public peace disturbance and minor in possession of alcohol. Officers responded to a restaurant in the 1600 block of South Limit Avenue regarding an assault. They determined Torgayev reportedly assaulted Sidinskiy. Sidinskiy refused medical attention but agreed to assist in prosecution. Witnesses, though, gave statements that differed from Sidinskiy’s account of the incident. The officers reportedly found he was in possession of alcohol, though he was under 21. Officers issued municipal court summonses to both Torgayev and Sidinskiy.

7:20 p.m.: Nathan W. Green, 27, of the 1700 block of East Harvey Street, was arrested on a charge of driving with a suspended license. Ambur N. Hendricks, 28, of Sedalia, was arrested on charges of distribution of marijuana, felony possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. An officer stopped Green’s vehicle in the area of East Third Street and South Engineer Avenue, as he recognized the driver to have several active warrants. A computer check through dispatch showed Green had a suspended license and two warrants. The officer found a passenger in the vehicle, Hendricks, was reportedly in possession of marijuana and took her into custody.

Aug. 29

4:30 a.m.: William Charles Mulcrone, 49, of the 1300 block of East Boonville Street, was arrested on a charge of driving with a suspended license. An officer saw a truck with no license plates traveling on Clinton Road near West 24th Street. He stopped the vehicle and found through dispatch that the driver, Mulcrone, had a suspended license.

Incidents

Aug. 27

6:25 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 100 block of South Quincy Avenue for a child investigation. The complainant said she came to the residence for a few minutes, and her juvenile child stayed in their vehicle. She said a suspect came to repossess her vehicle and “threw” her child out of the car and drove away. While speaking with the complainant, the officer noticed some discoloration on the child’s left forearm.

Aug. 29

2:20 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 800 block of West Third Street for a stolen brown 1998 Oldsmobile Bravada. The victim said suspects drove the car west toward downtown. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the vehicle by the time of the report. The Oldsmobile has a loose headlight that is secured with tie-down straps. The driver’s door is secured with bungee cords and tie-down straps.

10:40 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 400 block of East 17th Street for a report of a disturbance. The reporting person said his wife assaulted him when she bit, kicked and punched him. The suspect left the area before the officer’s arrival.

Aug. 30

8:10 a.m.: Rocky D. Goodman, 26, of Independence, was arrested in Johnson County on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. Troopers also served a Jackson County felony warrant.
