This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Dec. 15

12:49 a.m.: Craig Adrew Kingsley, 47, of the 1200 block of Deseret Drive, was arrested in the 1200 block of Deseret Drive on a charge of driving while intoxicated. Officers were dispatched to the area for a report of a subject who had shown up at that residence intoxicated and did not belong there. Officers spoke to the subject, and investigation revealed he drove to the residence while intoxicated.

Dec. 22

7:43 p.m.: Jonathan Edward Campbell, 24, of the 900 block of East Sixth Street, was arrested near the intersection of East Seventh Street and South Ohio Avenue on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. A traffic stop was conducted for a vehicle without a front license plate. Investigation revealed the driver was in possession of marijuana and related paraphernalia.

Dec. 23

3:28 a.m.: Christopher Edward Demus, 27, of Eldon, was arrested near the intersection of West Broadway Boulevard and South Kentucky Avenue on a charge of driving with a suspended license. A traffic stop was conducted for improper lane use and improper vehicle registration. The officer learned through dispatch that the driver had a suspended license.

3:54 a.m.: John Louis Hamm, 40, of the 1500 block of South Harrison Avenue, was arrested near the intersection of West Second Street and South State Fair Boulevard on a charge of driving with a suspended license.

11:18 a.m.: Lawrence A. Westerfield, 19, of the 1300 block of East Fourth Street, was arrested in the 200 block of West Second Street on a charge of stealing. A complainant reported in the SPD lobby that his supervisor at a local business noticed some discrepancies with the store’s transactions. The employees reviewed security footage and found an employee was making fraudulent returns. They went through a month of footage and found the suspect had made a total of $985 worth of returns and kept the money. The suspect admitted to taking the money.

Incidents

Dec. 22

10:48 a.m.: An officer responded to the 1900 block of South Limit Avenue for a theft report. A victim reported she stepped inside a business for about one minute and left her vehicle running. When she returned outside, the vehicle was gone. The vehicle was recovered later that day in Knob Noster.

Dec. 23

1:11 p.m.: A victim spoke with an officer in the SPD lobby and reported someone used her credit device to make more than $2,500 in online purchases. The suspect was contacted an an interview was scheduled, but the suspect did not show up. Officers are submitting charges to the Pettis County Prosecuting Attorney.

3:41 p.m.: A victim spoke with an officer in the SPD lobby and reported several packages, valued at $771.98, were taken Dec. 12 from his front porch in the 1200 block of West 11th Street.

4:24 p.m.: A victim in the 400 block of West 10th Street reported a theft of $324 cash. The victim told the officer she had individuals at her residence helping her pack up to move. During this process, $324 in her purse went missing. The victim said the money was secure in her wallet in her purse, and that she believes one of the three individuals helping her pack took the money.

Arrests

Dec. 23

9:40 a.m.: Karl F. Evans, 22, of Kansas City, was arrested in Saline County on a charge of driving with a suspended license. Troopers also served a Jefferson City warrant for an original charge of driving with a suspended license.

12:23 p.m.: Dakota W. Noriega, 27, of Osage Beach, was arrested in Saline County on charges of felony possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

2:02 p.m.: Michael J. Bray, 55, of Silver Plume, Colorado, was arrested in Saline County on charges of felony possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, and possession of a controlled substance.

2:03 p.m.: Tylor T. Spade, 28, of Lincoln, was arrested in Benton County on charges of operating a vehicle without a valid operator’s license and failure to display valid license plates.

4:15 p.m.: Stephanie F. Taylor, 35, of Lake Charles, Louisiana, was arrested in Henry County on charges of driving while intoxicated, speeding, no insurance, lane violation and displaying the license plates of another.

Dec. 24

2:42 a.m.: Anthony Marcos, 18, of Sedalia, was arrested in Pettis County on charges of driving while intoxicated and failure to display valid license plates.

1:50 p.m.: Randilyn R. Wilson, 32, of Willow Springs, was arrested in Henry County on a charge of driving with a suspended license. Troopers also served a Texas County warrant for an original charge of felony possession of marijuana.

8:25 p.m.: Mark A. Giffin, 20, of Versailles, was arrested in Morgan County on charges of driving while intoxicated, driving with a revoked license and no insurance.

Dec. 25

10:46 a.m.: Timothy L. Rife, 18, of Marshall, was arrested in Saline County on a charge of felony possession of a controlled substance. He was released at the scene.

10:46 a.m.: Adrian M. Crutchfield, 18, of Marshall, was arrested in Saline County on a charge of felony possession of a controlled substance. He was released at the scene.
