Dec. 7 Police Reports

This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Dec. 4

9 p.m.: Thomas N. Thompson, 18, of the 600 block of North New York Avenue, was arrested on a charge of possession of marijuana. Chelsea D. Smith, 17, of the 2400 block of South Woodlawn Drive, received a municipal court summons for possession of drug paraphernalia. An officer stopped a vehicle at South Wagner Avenue and East Seventh Street for not having headlights or taillights on. Investigation during the traffic stop revealed the driver, Smith, and a male passenger, Thompson, were in possession of marijuana. Thompson also had an active arrest warrant from Kansas City. The officer took Thompson into custody and issued Smith a municipal court summons.

Dec. 5

6:55 p.m.: Mary E. Beegle, 58, of the 29000 block of Apple Valley Road, was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated and resisting a misdemeanor arrest. Officers responded to the area of West Main Street and South State Fair Boulevard for a motor vehicle accident. A vehicle crashed into several objects as it was traveling down the road before it overturned. Officers made contact with the driver, Beegle, who refused medical treatment, and they determined she was intoxicated. Beegle was taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center before going to the Pettis County Jail.

8:45 p.m.: James R. Wilcox, 37, of the 400 block of South Park Avenue, was arrested on charges of misdemeanor possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Officers responded to Wilcox’s residence to conduct a warrant check. They spoke with Wilcox and conducted a computer check through dispatch, which revealed he had a warrant from Pettis County. The officers also found Wilcox was in possession of marijuana and related paraphernalia.

Dec. 6

2:40 a.m.: Victor Rene Madrid, 38, of the 300 block of West 10th Street, was arrested on a charge of driving with a revoked license. An officer stopped Madrid’s vehicle at South Porter Avenue and East Broadway Boulevard for not having headlights or taillights on. Investigation revealed Madrid’s license was revoked.

Incidents

Dec. 4

9:05 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 1900 block of West 10th Street for a report of a theft from a vehicle. The victim said someone got into his vehicle overnight. The suspect had damaged the driver-side door with a tool used to enter. Four pairs of sunglasses worth about $700 and a variety of gift cards were missing.

Dec. 5

9:45 a.m.: Officers responded to the 300 block of West Fourth Street for a report of a burglary. They checked the residence and found no one inside. The victim checked the residence and said two TVs and a gaming system were missing.

1:25 p.m.: An officer took a theft report in the police station lobby. An asset protection associate from a business reported two suspects leaving the store pushing a shopping cart filled with $1,503 in merchandise without paying. The associate had pictures of the suspects and what they had taken.

5:15 a.m.: Carl J. Mangiaracina, 59, of Holden, was arrested in Johnson County on a charge of driving while intoxicated.
