This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Nov. 29

8 p.m.: James D. Stevens, 19, of the 1300 block of East Sixth Street, received a municipal court summons for possession of marijuana. Officers stopped a vehicle near West 16th Street and South Kentucky Avenue. They conducted a search of the vehicle after noticing the odor of marijuana. The officers found a bag of marijuana on Stevens, a passenger in the vehicle, and another bag of marijuana near him.

3:35 p.m.: Amanda Stewart, 32, was arrested on a charge of trespassing. An officer responded to the 1400 block of East Broadway Boulevard for a report of trespassing. He spoke with Stewart and the complainant. The officer then informed Stewart she was not to return to the address at the complainant’s request. After leaving the residence, the officer was still in the area and saw Stewart return to the property. He took her into custody for trespassing.

Nov. 30

10:20 a.m.: Matthew Martin Capiendo Luzon, 21, of the 700 block of West Fourth Street, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of possession of marijuana. An officer stopped a vehicle with a taillight out in the 100 block of East 16th Street. While speaking with the driver, the officer could smell the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, and he informed the driver he was going to conduct a search. He asked a passenger in the back driver-side seat to step out so he could search him. The passenger, Capiendo Luzon, reportedly told the officer he had marijuana on his person. The officer arrested him and seized a bag containing a green leafy substance from his waistband.

Dec. 1

1:05 a.m.: Brady Alan Allred, 26, of the 900 block of South Missouri Avenue, was arrested on a charge of first-degree trespassing. Officers were dispatched to Bothwell Regional Health Center for a report of trespassing. The complainant said he told Allred to leave the hospital multiple times, but Allred refused. When officers arrived, he was again told to leave before he was arrested on a trespassing charge.

Dec. 1

12:55 a.m.: An officer responded to the 300 block of North Prospect Avenue to investigate a burglary. He spoke with a victim who said someone had broken into her residence and stole $1,575 worth of items.

11:45 a.m.: Raymond L. Martin, 44, of Boonville, was arrested in Moniteau County on charges of felony possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
