Five people were arrested in Sedalia after law enforcement served multiple search warrants Wednesday.

The Sedalia Police Department has been investigating heroin distribution in the Sedalia and Pettis County area. Officers received arrest warrants from the Pettis County Prosecutor’s Office for four people suspected in the investigation, according to an SPD press release.

SPD also attained search warrants for three residences where heroin distribution has been reportedly occurring. Officers served no-knock warrants at homes in the 4300 block of McVey Road, the 1500 block of East Fourth Street and the 800 block of McVey Road.

The SPD Drug Enforcement Unit and Criminal Investigations Bureau worked with the Pettis County Sheriff’s Office, Mid-Missouri Drug Task Force and the Missouri State Highway Patrol to carry out the searches and arrests.

Searches of the three homes revealed heroin, prescription pills, drug paraphernalia and additional evidence to further support heroin distribution, according to the release.
