This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Jan. 8

9:40 a.m.: Marcus Lamont Davis, 35, of Kansas City, was arrested on charges of driving with a revoked license, misdemeanor identity theft and failure to register annually with the Missouri Department of Revenue. An officer stopped Davis’ vehicle at West 16th Street and South Beacon Avenue for a registration violation. Davis reportedly provided a false name before the officer found he had a revoked license and a Platte County warrant.

Jan. 9

10 p.m.: Dustin C. Meyer, 30, of the 500 block of East 36th Street, was arrested on charges of misdemeanor possession of marijuana and misdemeanor tampering with physical evidence. Dillon D. Mallonee, 23, of the 600 block of East 13th Street, was arrested on charges of failing to yield to an emergency vehicle, driving with a suspended license, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, misdemeanor tampering with physical evidence and possession of drug paraphernalia. An officer attempted to stop Mallonee’s vehicle in the area of West 12th Street and Winchester Drive. Mallonee continued north on Winchester Drive, and the officer saw items come out the driver’s side window before the vehicle pulled into a parking lot in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard. The officer could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle while he was speaking with the occupants. A search revealed drugs and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle and on the roadway where the items came out of the window.

Jan. 10

1:20 a.m.: Bailey Thomas Boone, 17, of the 600 block of Wilkerson Street, received a municipal court summons for charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Chelsea D. Smith, 17, of the 600 block of North New York Avenue, received a municipal court summons for a charge of possession of marijuana. An officer checked an occupied vehicle at Centennial Park and reportedly found two occupants in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

1:25 a.m.: Donovan L. Sims, 40, of the 800 block of North Osage Avenue, was arrested on a charge of driving with a suspended license. An officer stopped Sims’ vehicle near East 12th Street and South Center Avenue for expired license plates. A computer check showed Sims had a suspended license and an active Pettis County warrant.

Incidents

Jan. 9

6:05 p.m.: An officer responded to a restaurant in the 1300 block of South Limit Avenue for a report of an intoxicated subject. Following investigation at the scene, the officer took a juvenile subject into custody for charges of peace disturbance, minor in possession of alcohol and resisting arrest. The juvenile received treatment at Bothwell Regional Health Center and was released into the custody of a parent.

Jan. 9

5:40 p.m.: Adelaida Canseco-Cortes, 27, of Durham, North Carolina, was arrested in Saline County on charges of felony first-degree tampering with a motor vehicle and driving with a suspended license.

10:10 p.m.: Brian K. Atkinson, 32, of Independence, was arrested in Benton County on charges of felony driving with a revoked license, failure to use a signal and not wearing a seat belt.

11:05 p.m.: Nathaniele T. Squires, of California, was arrested in Moniteau County on charges of felony delivery of marijuana, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, not having a driver’s license, not having insurance and not wearing a seat belt.
