This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

July 5

1:40 p.m.: Dakota Juan Marcos, 19, of the 2900 block of South Washington Avenue, received a municipal court summons for a charge of stealing. An officer responded to the 800 block of East Broadway Boulevard for a report of a gas drive-off that occurred that day. The complainant said the same suspect, Marcos, also stole gas June 15. The total value of the gas stolen on July 5 added to $33.13. The officer identified the suspect vehicle and issued Marcos a municipal court summons.

July 6

9:20 a.m.: Jessica D. Gresham, 29, of Sedalia, and David T. Boggs, 33, of Sedalia, were arrested on a charge of trespassing. An officer responded to the 1600 block of East Ninth Street to investigate a report of trespassing. He spoke with the complainant, who said a man and a woman were sleeping in the residence, though they weren’t allowed to be there. Officers spoke with Boggs outside the residence and placed him under arrest. They located and arrested Gresham inside on a charge of trespassing and a municipal failure to appear warrant.

8:25 p.m.: James Edward Miller, 46, of the 1100 block of South Osage Avenue, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest. An officer recognized Miller at his residence and ran a computer check of his information. The search revealed he had two warrants from Pettis County. Miller reportedly saw the marked patrol car and resisted arrest by running into his home. The officer went into the residence and recovered the suspect. He then confirmed the warrant.

11:40 p.m.: Chad Eugene McDaniel, 36, of the 1800 block of South Sneed Avenue, was arrested on a charge of driving with a suspended license. An officer stopped McDaniel’s vehicle near West 16th Street and South Osage Avenue for a broken headlight. McDaniel reportedly told the officer he had a suspended license. Dispatch confirmed his suspended status.

July 7

2:50 a.m.: Andrea L. Brown, 33, of Columbia, was arrested on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. An officer was dispatched to the area of East Third Street and South Washington Avenue for a report of a 911 hang up call. He noticed a subject, Brown, sitting by the side of the road. A computer check revealed she had a failure to appear warrant from the City of Sedalia. Further investigation revealed she was in possession of drug paraphernalia.

1:20 p.m.: Christina Hope Horn, 25, of the 1300 block of East Boonville Street, was arrested on charges of misdemeanor stealing, possession of a controlled substance and first-degree endangering the welfare of a child. An officer responded to the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a report of shoplifting. He found Horn to be in possession of $131.49 worth of stolen merchandise, which he later recovered. The office placed Horn under arrest and searched her person. He reportedly found a prescription pill and methamphetamine in her wallet. Horn was with her niece at the scene and reportedly attempted to give the 11-year-old the wallet containing the methamphetamine.

7:45 p.m.: Yesenia A. Roman, 27, of Kansas City, was arrested on charges of misdemeanor possession of marijuana and driving with a revoked license. Emily M. Goodge, 21, of Independence, was arrested on a charge of misdemeanor possession of marijuana. Officers stopped Roman’s vehicle in the area of West Broadway Boulevard and South Vermont Avenue. After investigation, they arrested Roman and a passenger, Goodge.

July 8

4:25 p.m.: Antonio Mataque, 22, of the 500 block of Wilkerson Street, was arrested on a charge of driving with a revoked license. An officer stopped Mataque’s vehicle near East Broadway Boulevard and South New York Avenue. Dispatch advised his license was revoked.

Incidents

July 6

11:50 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 500 block of North Missouri Avenue for a report of property damage. The victim said an unknown suspect shot at her house the night before, damaging the walls, two doors and possibly the roof.

3:55 p.m.: An officer responded to the 3200 block of West 16th Street to investigate a report of stealing. The complainant said a lawn mower, valued at $7,000, was missing and was last seen a week before.

July 7

4:55 p.m.: An officer took a report at the police station from a complainant who said her 13-year-old son had been sexually abused in the 1100 block of East 11th Street. The officer is forwarding the report to detectives for further investigation.

July 9

10:05 a.m.: An employee from the Sedalia Public Library, 311 W. Third St., reported several live plants, flowers and flower pots were stolen from behind the building. The complainant said someone watered the plants about 5 p.m. Sunday, and the plants were noticed missing at 7 a.m. the next morning. They have a value of $500. The reporting officer had no suspect information at the time.

Arrests

July 6

6:05 p.m.: Allen Deitas was arrested in the 16000 block of U.S. Route 50 on a charge of driving with a suspended license.

10:30 p.m.: Lorenzelle Lee Jones Jr. was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated, possession of marijuana and speeding. Deputies arrested Jones during a traffic stop near U.S. Route 50 and Crystal Springs Road in La Monte.

July 8

6:40 p.m.: Julio Cesar Valencia was arrested on charges of second-degree domestic assault, unlawful use of a weapon and driving while intoxicated. Deputies responded to the 4200 block of West Main Street in reference to a physical disturbance with a large knife. They spoke with the complainant, who said Valencia had left before their arrival. During their investigation, the deputies learned Valencia reportedly threatened the complainant with a machete. She said he was drunk after drinking all day. A short time later, Valencia drove past the deputies, who stopped and arrested him a block away.

Arrests

July 6

12:35 p.m.: Arthur W. Forst, 28, of Houstonia, was arrested in Benton County on charges of driving while intoxicated and resisting arrest.

10:30 p.m.: Duffy B. Graham, 34, of Russellville, was arrested in Moniteau County on charges of driving while intoxicated with a person under 17 in the vehicle and not using headlights.

July 7

10:45 p.m.: Casey J. Scanlon, 34, of Lake Ozark, was arrested in Morgan County on charges of boating while intoxicated and displaying lights other than prescribed.

11:45 p.m.: Eric S. Archibeque, 32, of Sedalia, was arrested in Saline County on a charge of driving while intoxicated.

July 8

2:15 a.m.: Andrey P. Todirash, 26, of Sedalia, was arrested in Pettis County on charges of driving while intoxicated, speeding and not having insurance.
