This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

June 7

9:50 p.m.: Cynthia L. Trumpp, 69, of the 700 block of West Fifth Street, was arrested on a felony charge of third-degree domestic assault. Officers were dispatched to the 700 block of West Fifth Street for a reported disturbance. The parties involved said it was only an argument and they would separate for the rest of the evening. A short time after the officers left, the complainant called the police again, stating Trumpp hit him on the side of the head with a glass object. The complainant had marks on the right side of his face. Trumpp claimed he did it to himself. The officers then took her into custody.

10:15 p.m.: Christopher H. Walker, 23, of the 1400 block of Elm Hills Boulevard, was arrested on charges of driving with a revoked license, failure to register annually with the Department of Revenue and not having proof of insurance. An officer learned Walker’s license was revoked after stopping his vehicle in the 2600 block of West Broadway Boulevard for improper registration.

Incidents

June 6

5:05 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 400 block of Buckner Court for an assault report. The victim said a family member had assaulted her in the area of her residence. During the assault, her phone, valued at $50, was also damaged. The officer contacted the suspect later in the day and issued a municipal court summons for charges of assault and property damage.

June 7

12:25 p.m.: An officer spoke in the police station with a subject about a theft from a business in the 3800 block of West Broadway Boulevard. The store’s assistant manager said her staff informed her that a female suspect had stolen $1,146 worth of tools at 9 p.m. May 6. At the time of the report, the female suspect had not been identified.

1:10 p.m.: An officer responded to the area of West Broadway Boulevard and Thompson Boulevard in reference to an injury accident. The officer observed two vehicles had collided in the eastbound lanes, blocking traffic. He spoke with the drivers, both of whom complained of injuries, and one had apparent head injuries. Dispatch advised the driver with the head injury had a suspended license, and he was unable to produce insurance on scene. The Pettis County Ambulance District took him to Bothwell Regional Health Center for treatment. The officer is requesting charges of not having insurance and driving with a suspended license.

4:55 p.m.: An officer spoke with a subject at the police station about a business in the 4200 block of Wisconsin Avenue finding a counterfeit $100. An employee said she takes money to the bank each day for the business. When she took money from June 6, the bank teller informed her of the counterfeit bill. The complainant said the business was unable to determine what time on June 6 someone used the fake bill or what the person purchased with it. The officer had not identified any suspects at the time of the report.

Arrests

June 7

7:40 p.m.: John L. Dukes, 53, of Versailles, was arrested in Morgan County on charges of driving while intoxicated, careless and imprudent driving, not having insurance, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

11:40 p.m.: Ryan W. Browder, 27, of Windsor, was arrested in Benton County on charges of driving while intoxicated and failure to drive on the right half of a roadway resulting in a crash.
