This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

June 24

7 p.m.: Tracy Ray Scott Arnold, 23, was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of opium or cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Someone flagged down an officer at Scott Joplin Court and West Saline Street and told him a suspect walking east on West Saline Street had warrants. The officer found the person matching the given description. The suspect, Arnold, had nine confirmed failure to appear warrants. The officer arrested him and conducted a search of his person, which reportedly revealed drugs and drug paraphernalia.

June 25

3:30 a.m.: Lori Lynn Moore, 47, of Green Ridge, was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. An officer observed a vehicle with expired license plates traveling east on West 24th Street and South Kentucky Avenue. Investigation reportedly revealed the driver, Moore, was in possession of methamphetamine.

Incidents

June 25

4 p.m.: A complainant called to report a stolen vehicle from the 2600 block of West Broadway Boulevard. A 2006 Lexus 250 series passenger car was missing from a back sales lot. The complainant said the vehicle and the keys might have been missing from the lot since April. The officer had no suspect information at the time of the report.

Incidents

June 26

3:35 a.m.: Deputies responded to the 22000 block of Yeater Road in reference to a report of shots fired. The caller said someone shot at the residence several times while the occupants were sleeping, causing several holes and damage to the property inside. An investigation continues.

10:35 a.m.: A subject called the police station to report his debit card had been used fraudulently in North Carolina at an auto parts store. The complainant said $1,003 was charged against his card without his permission. He contacted the police department in the jurisdiction where the suspect used the card. The complainant was willing to assist with prosecution.

Arrests

June 25

8 p.m.: Samantha J. Dailey, 21, of Independence, was arrested in Johnson County on charges of felony possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding.

10:20 p.m.: Melanie D. Wallace, 44, of Warsaw, was arrested in Benton County on charges of driving while intoxicated and careless and imprudent driving involving a crash.
