This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

March 12

2:20 p.m.: Cody Christian Paxton, 25, of the 300 block of East Boonville Street, was arrested on charges of second-degree trespassing and littering. An officer responded to a business for a report of trespassing. The complainant showed him photos of Paxton, who was burning copper on the business’s property. The officer recognized the suspect and made contact with him at his house. After a short interview, he placed Paxton under arrest.

March 13

8:20 p.m.: Shyanne Nichole Meyer, 22, of the 19000 block of Maltsberger Road, was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for expired plates at West Seventh Street and South Missouri Avenue. The officers relayed the occupants’ information to dispatch, who advised the male occupant, Robert Leroy Lynch, had two failure to appear warrants from Pettis County. The female suspect, Meyer, had a Sedalia municipal warrant. Both were taken into custody, and Meyer was reportedly found to be in possession of methamphetamine and paraphernalia.

Incidents

March 13

10:40 a.m.: An officer responded to the 900 block of Lamm Drive to investigate reported destruction of property and stealing. The officer learned someone had gone onto a construction site and cut out several short lengths of wire. This caused more than $5,000 in damage to the jobsite and took nearly $2,000 worth of wire. The incident reportedly occurred overnight between Monday and Tuesday.

5:20 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 500 block of East Chestnut Street for a report of a domestic disturbance. The victim said her husband threatened to kill her and then left the residence. Officers were unable to make contact with the suspect but are seeking domestic assault charges.

7:20 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to Bothwell Regional Health Center for an assault. The complainant said a verbal argument on Facebook Messenger occurred between him and a suspect. During the argument, the suspect said he wanted to fight, and the victim eventually shared his location so they could. The suspect found the victim and reportedly assaulted him, though the victim told him to leave. The complainant had several marks on his head, bruising on his left arm and a swollen right hand.

Arrests

March 13

4 p.m.: Randall F. Harbison Sr., 58, of Holden, was arrested in Johnson County on charges of felony driving while intoxicated and felony driving with a revoked license.

10:45 p.m.: Ricky Jones, 56, of St. Louis, was arrested in Saline County on charges of driving while intoxicated, speeding and not wearing a seat belt.
