March 26

7:45 p.m.: Dennis James McCarty III, 23, of the 1800 block of South Vermont Avenue, was arrested on a charge of driving with a suspended license. An officer performed an investigative traffic stop on a truck, as the registered owner of the vehicle was documented as having a suspended license. The traffic stop took place in the area of West 10th Street and South Limit Avenue. The officer spoke with McCarty, who was the driver and registered owner, and performed a computer check through dispatch, which confirmed his suspended status.

March 27

1:45 a.m.: Robert M. Williams, 36, of the 300 block of Scott Joplin Court, was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated, felony leaving the scene of an accident, operating a motor vehicle without a valid license and misdemeanor possession of marijuana. Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Scott Joplin Court in reference to an accident in which a vehicle struck the southwest apartment building. Officers spoke with Williams, the driver of the vehicle, and determined he was impaired by drugs and alcohol. The building sustained structural damage to the east wall.

Incidents

March 26

6:10 a.m.: A man walked into the police station to make a theft report. He said he left his truck unlocked, and someone stole a handgun valued at $450 from the vehicle. There were no suspects at the time of the report.

8:35 p.m.: Nicholas A. Nolan, 38, of Harris, Texas, was arrested in Saline County on charges of driving while intoxicated and driving with a suspended license.
