This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

March 14

2:50 p.m.: Rhonda M. Swofford, 35, of the 800 block of West Seventh Street, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of stealing. An officer was dispatched to a business in the 3100 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to a theft. An officer spoke with Swofford and, after further investigation, placed him under arrest. The officer recovered and returned all the merchandise taken from the business.

March 15

12:25 a.m.: Amber R. Edwards, 33, of the 3500 block of South Grand Avenue, and Khwaume O. Combs, 49, of the 300 block of West Fourth Street, received municipal court summonses for a charge of assault. Officers were dispatched to a business in the 3100 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a reported physical disturbance. The officers determined one person involved in the disturbance had left in a van toward another business. The other person refused medical treatment but wished to pursue a charge of assault. Later in the evening, the officers spoke with the person who left the scene, who said they were finishing something the complainant started a week ago.

March 16

2:40 a.m.: Catherine A. McGlone, 29, of Stover, was arrested on a charge of driving with a suspended license. Officers conducted an investigative stop on a vehicle near West Third Street and South Limit Avenue. The registered owner of the vehicle, McGlone, was documented as having a suspended license. The officers confirmed McGlone was the driver and arrested her.

Incidents

March 14

8:30 p.m.: An officer conducted a traffic stop on a white truck in the 1300 block of South Limit Avenue for displaying stolen plates. The officer made brief contact with the driver before he sped off from the scene, knocking the officer to the ground. Officers weren’t able to locate the vehicle after it left the area.

March 15

11:45 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 700 block of East Broadway Boulevard for a report of forgery that occurred the previous day. He spoke with an employee who gave him a counterfeit $100 bill. The employee showed the officer surveillance video of a young white male using the counterfeit bill to purchase items. At the time of the report, the officer had no further suspect information.

4:20 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 200 block of South Marvin Avenue for a report of stealing from a storage unit. The owner said someone broke the lock off the storage unit and stole $1,690 worth of items sometime in the past four months. The officer had no suspects at the time of the report.

Arrests

March 15

9:15 p.m.: Charles O. Morrow, 34, of Marshall, was arrested in Saline County on charges of felony driving with a revoked license, careless and imprudent driving, and not wearing a seat belt.

9:45 p.m.: Lucas M. Moore, 30, of Holden, was arrested in Johnson County on a felony charge of delivery of a controlled substance.

9:45 p.m.: Jamie L. Bratten, 26, of Grandview, was arrested in Johnson County on a felony charge of delivery of a controlled substance.
