This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

May 18

6:50 p.m.: Justin Markeis Hall, 29, of the 300 block of North Prospect Avenue, was arrested on a charge of driving with a suspended license. An officer found Hall’s license was suspended after a traffic stop at East Pettis Street and North Mill Street.

May 21

5:20 p.m.: Christopher Scott Nevels, 33, of the 100 block of Villa Drive, was arrested on a charge of destruction of non-city property. Officers responded to the 1700 block of West Main Street for a disturbance. They reportedly observed Nevels shatter the front glass door of a building by throwing a rock at it. They took him into custody and placed him on a 24-hour hold at the Pettis County Jail.

Incidents

May 21

8:25 p.m.: A subject came to the police station to report her ex-boyfriend had assaulted her in the 500 block of North Grand Avenue. She said she and her ex-boyfriend were arguing, and he pushed her. He then grabbed her phone and threw it. Officers attempted to make contact with the suspect but were unsuccessful. The complainant didn’t have any injuries.

Arrests

May 21

9:15 p.m.: Gary D. Horn was arrested on charges of second-degree domestic assault, felony resisting arrest and assault on law enforcement. Deputies were dispatched to the area of Goodwill Chapel Drive and McVey Road in reference to a physical domestic assault. Horn had already left the area on foot when they arrived. The reporting party waited for medical attention at the scene and wanted to speak with law enforcement. While the deputies were at the scene, Horn returned, and they took him into custody. Horn reportedly assaulted one of the deputies during the arrest and started to resist. They were able to gain control of Horn and took him to the Pettis County Jail.

Arrests

May 20

6:10 p.m.: Robert P. Bower, 33, of Latham, was arrested in Moniteau County on charges of felony driving with a revoked license, felony resisting arrest by fleeing, failure to display valid license plates, careless and imprudent driving, and not wearing a seat belt.

May 22

11:50 a.m.: Lars J. Harper, 23, Parsons, Tennessee, was arrested in Saline County on charges of felony possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.
