This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Nov. 26

9:40 a.m.: Walter C. Rogers, 47, of the 300 block of West Fourth Street, was arrested on charges of first-degree burglary and felony stealing. A complainant, who works for a business, filed a theft report at the police department. The complainant said Rogers came into the business and left with about $1,200 in merchandise without paying. Police located Rogers the next day and arrested him. He also had three active warrants from Pettis County.

2:45 p.m.: Deandre Anthony Laney, 21, of the 800 block of East Broadway Boulevard, was arrested on charges of misdemeanor possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Officers were dispatched to the 800 block of East Broadway Boulevard for a disturbance involving weapons. Investigation revealed no assault had happened, and Laney was found a few blocks from the scene. He was reportedly in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He also had an active Benton County warrant and a warrant out of Sedalia.

6:50 p.m.: Domonique Avian Jones, 19, of the 2900 block of South Ingram Avenue, was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. An officer stopped Jones in the area of West 16th Street and South Grand Avenue. A computer check revealed the registered owner of the vehicle had no driver’s license. The officer spoke with Jones and immediately noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. He searched the vehicle and found marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

9:05 p.m.: Macias David Hernandez, 35, of Marshall, was arrested on charges of identity theft, forgery and operating a motor vehicle on a highway without a valid license. An officer performed a traffic stop on Hernandez’s vehicle near South Vermont Avenue and West Main Street after the driver failed to use a signal while making a left turn. Investigation during the stop revealed Hernandez was using two identities, both for a person who had no driver’s license.

10:45 p.m.: Chad William Marcum, 22, was arrested on a charge of felony resisting arrest. An officer attempted to speak with Marcum in the 600 block of East 14th Street after he was walking across a property toward a parking lot. Because of an increase of vehicle break-ins, the officer decided to talk with him. As the officer approached, Marcum took off on foot. The officer took him into custody after a short chase. A computer check showed Marcum had a warrant from Pettis County, Franklin County and Sedalia.

11:10 p.m.: Tonya S. Martin, 39, of Marshall, was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Officers responded to the 1200 block of East Ninth Street in reference to a subject check. They made contact with Martin and found she had failure to appear warrants from Pettis County and Sedalia. The officers also discovered she was in possession of methamphetamine.

11:35 p.m.: Terrell Antwon Robinson, 24, of the 400 block of Albright Court, was arrested on a felony charge of third-degree domestic assault. An officer responded to the 900 block of Westwood Avenue to investigate a domestic disturbance. The officer made contact with the victim, who said a man known to her, Robinson, had assaulted her. Robinson left before the officers arrived. They later found and arrested him.

Nov. 27

4:55 a.m.: Timothy Lee Davis, 41, of Sedalia, was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. An officer was dispatched to the 800 block of East Broadway Boulevard in reference to suspicious subjects behind a business. The officer found one of the subjects, Davis, and recognized that he had a Pettis County warrant. When Davis was arrested, he was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

3:20 p.m.: Jessie R. Williams, 27, of the 1400 block of West Third Street, was arrested on a felony charge of third-degree assault. An officer was dispatched to Liberty Park for a report of an assault. The victim said a man had been following him around the pond while he was fishing, asking him odd questions. When the victim began to walk to his vehicle to leave, he told the suspect, Williams, goodbye. Williams then reportedly punched the victim in the face, leaving a bruise. The victim refused medical attention. Officers found Williams at his residence and took him into custody.

9:25 p.m.: Michael J. Sieger, 32, of the 500 block of South Quincy Avenue, was arrested on charges of driving with a suspended license, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Koby W. Graham, 28, was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. An officer stopped a vehicle in the area of South Limit Avenue and Tiger Pride Boulevard for expired license plates. The officer gathered the occupants’ information and ran it through dispatch, which advised the driver, Sieger, had a suspended license. Sieger was taken into custody, and the K9 unit was deployed with a positive alert. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed drug paraphernalia, a digital scale and a white crystalline substance that tested positive for methamphetamine. Sieger and the front seat passenger, Graham, were taken to the Pettis County Jail.

Incidents

Nov. 24

1:30 p.m.: An officer took a report in the police department lobby of interference with custody. The victim said the suspect had their son and refused to return him in accordance with the child custody agreement settled in Saline County courts. The officer spoke with the suspect, who said the victim had not been following the custody agreement for the past four months and he didn’t want to return the child. Both the suspect and the victim said they hadn’t been following the agreement plan laid out in court. The officer is submitting charges to the Pettis Count prosecutor for interference with custody.

3:30 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 1000 block of South Massachusetts Avenue for a theft report. The victim said someone took his prescription medication out of his mailbox. The victim was missing 120 pills of hydrocodone worth $1,200.

Nov. 25

10:25 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 1500 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to a vehicle that had been stolen from the 700 block of East 13th Street. The victim said the vehicle had been taken some time between 4 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. that day. There were no suspects at the time of the report.

Nov. 26

4 a.m.: An officer responded to Bothwell Regional Health Center to investigate a report of assault. The officer spoke with the victim, who said two Hispanic men assaulted him near the 300 block of East St. Louis Street. The victim left the area and arrived at the hospital to seek medical treatment for his injuries.

2:45 p.m.: An officer responded to the 1300 block of West 32nd Street for a report of vehicle theft. The victim said he parked a minivan in the grass next to some buildings in the 1300 block of West 32nd Street about two weeks before. The victim returned to town and discovered the vehicle was missing. The dealership through which the victim purchased the car equips all of its vehicles with tracking devices. The officer will attempt contact with the dealership the Monday after Thanksgiving weekend.

Nov. 27

6:25 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to a business in the 400 block of North Marshall Avenue for a report of theft and property damage. The complainant said someone entered one of the company vehicles sometime in the past week. The suspect damaged the inside of the vehicle and stole equipment. The complainant later discovered another vehicle was damaged in the back area of the business, causing an estimated $2,000 in damage. There were no suspects at the time of the report.

10:10 a.m.: A complainant reported to the police that two juveniles from the New Haven Group Home for Girls left the residence yesterday and have not returned. The two juveniles will be entered into the National Crime Information Center as missing/runaway persons.

Arrests

Nov. 28

2 p.m.: Carlos E. Staten was arrested on a charge of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Deputies arrested Staten after a traffic stop to serve a parole violation warrant with no bond. Staten was also found to be in possession of suspected illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Nov. 25

8:30 p.m.: Robert D. Bittle, 51, of Tipton, was arrested in Moniteau County on charges of felony possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to wear a safety belt.

Nov. 26

7:35 a.m.: James E. Kell, 19, of Jefferson City, was arrested on charges of driving with a suspended license and not having insurance. Troopers also served a failure to appear warrant from Moniteau County.

4:25 p.m.: Jonathan B. Rogers, 31, of Waynesville, was arrested in Morgan County on charges of driving with a suspended license and speeding. Troopers also served a Morgan County failure to appear warrant.

Nov. 27

1:55 p.m.: Tiffany L. Darling, 31, of Clinton, was arrested in Henry County on a charge of not having insurance. Troopers also served a Benton County warrant.

2:25 p.m.: Shannon N. McCracken, 43, of Independence, was arrested in Benton County on a charge of driving with a suspended license. Troopers also served a felony warrant from Independence for possession of marijuana.
