This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Oct. 31

8:40 p.m.: Roger William Stein, 56, of the 2500 block of Anderson School Road, was arrested on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance. An officer stopped Stein while he was riding a bicycle in the area of East 24th Street and South New York Avenue for not having the proper light on his bicycle and for riding on the wrong side of the road. Dispatch advised that Stein had a Pettis County failure to appear warrant. The officer arrested Stein and conducted a search, which revealed a pipe containing methamphetamine.

8:45 p.m.: Ruben J. Logan, 19, of the 1200 block of Spring Street, was arrested on a charge of public peace disturbance. An officer responded to the area of West 16th Street and South Park Avenue for a report of a disturbance. Following investigation, Logan was taken into custody for a charge of public peace disturbance.

Nov. 1

2:30 a.m.: Nicholas Huerta, 23, of the 1300 block of South Carr Avenue, was arrested on charges of fourth-degree assault, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of a concealable weapon, unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action. Whitney Martz, 19, of the 2500 block of Anderson Avenue, was arrested on charges of fourth-degree assault, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action. An officer was dispatched to the 1000 block of East 16th Street on a report of a subject with a gun. Before arriving, the officer was advised the suspects left the residence and a Pettis County deputy had stopped their vehicle. The reporting person said a man and woman pointed a gun at him. While speaking with the victim, the officer received word that a gun was found in the suspects’ car. They were taken into custody.

Incidents

Oct. 31

10 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to a business in the 1600 block of East Broadway Boulevard for a report of an assault in progress. The officer spoke with someone who had injuries consistent with an assault. Police are investigating the incident.

4:50 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to a motel in the 3400 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a report of stolen batteries from vehicles at the motel. The complainant said someone took 12 vehicle batteries from three work trucks in the back parking lot sometime between Friday and Tuesday. Each battery has a value of $150. There were no suspects at the time of the report.

Arrests

Oct. 31

8:35 a.m.: Kyle M. Moss, 17, of St. Louis, was arrested in Johnson County on charges of drug trafficking, receiving stolen property, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance and unlawful use of a weapon.

1:10 p.m.: Jelani K. Warren, 24, of St. Louis, was arrested in Johnson County on charges of drug trafficking, receiving stolen property, leaving the scene of an accident, felon in possession of a firearm, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a revoked license, careless and imprudent driving resulting in an accident, not wearing a seat belt, not having insurance, improper registration and possession of a controlled substance.

5:45 p.m.: Shawn P. Becker, 36, of Sedalia, was arrested in Morgan County on a charge of driving while revoked. Troopers also served a Morgan County misdemeanor warrant for driving with a revoked license.
