This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Nov. 6

7:40 a.m.: Miranda Allison French, 20, of the 1500 block of West Main Street, was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle without a license. An officer observed a westbound vehicle traveling on West Spring Street from South Park Avenue with no license plates. He stopped the vehicle and read the driver’s information to dispatch, which informed the officer that the driver, French, had an active failure to appear warrant and no license. The officer arrested French and is pursuing charges for operating a motor vehicle with no license.

1 p.m.: Brandon M. Markell, 21, of the 2300 block of East 16th Street, was arrested on charges of driving with a revoked license, first-degree burglary and resisting arrest. An officer saw Markell driving a vehicle on Albright Court and knew he had a felony warrants from Pettis County. He attempted to stop the vehicle, but Markell fled. The officer started a vehicle pursuit going east on East Saline Street to North Heard Avenue, where Markell crashed into a pole. With his car disabled, the suspect fled on foot, and the officer ran after him. Markell entered the back door of a residence and exited through the front. The occupants of the residence didn’t know the suspect. He continued to run until he gave up near Depp Avenue and East Chestnut Street. He was taken into custody without further incident.

2 p.m.: Holly Webb, 29, of Sweet Springs, was arrested on a charge of stealing. An officer was dispatched to a store in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard where the asset protection manager had Webb detained. The manager said Webb scanned only a portion of her selected items and attempted to leave the store. Webb said she didn’t steal intentionally. The report will be sent to the court prosecutor for review.

7:10 p.m.: Timothy Davis, 41, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of possession of marijuana. Officers were dispatched to a business in the 3500 block of West 16th Street in reference to a subject harassing customers. The officers spoke with the subject and discovered he was in possession of marijuana during the course of the investigation. He was issued a summons and released.

7:25 p.m.: Brandon Srader, 36, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of stealing. Officers responded to a business in the 700 block of East Broadway Boulevard in reference to a theft. Srader had reportedly been found concealing a bottle of alcohol valued at $9.99. He left the store without paying for the item.

Incidents

Nov. 6

11:25 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to the area of McAnally Court and West Saline Street for reports of gun shots. Witnesses said a suspect wearing black fired a gun between four and six times before running north toward Crown Hill Cemetery. Officers searched the area and were unable to find the suspect.
