This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Oct. 18

11:45 a.m.: Dennis D. Haight, 38, of the 1300 block of South Ohio Avenue, was arrested on charges of second-degree kidnapping and harassment to frighten or disturb another person. An officer was dispatched to the 1800 block of South Stewart Avenue for a harassment report. The victim said that the night before a suspect known to her, Haight, put her hands on a knife and then threatened to harm himself. She said she was emotionally upset and scared for the safety of her child and herself. The officer found Haight a few blocks away hiding behind a fence and arrested him.

Oct. 19

4:50 a.m.: Chasidy Faith Perez, 29, of the 1100 block of Crescent Drive, was arrested on a charge of trespassing. Officers responded to a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to a subject trespassing. Employees recognized Perez, as she had been told before that she was no longer allowed in the store. Officers spoke with her inside the store before taking her to the Pettis County Jail.

8:30 p.m.: Malik A. Sistrunk, 19, of the 1300 block of Montgomery Circle, was arrested on charges of driving with a suspended license and misdemeanor possession of marijuana. Hakeem S. Dickson, 20, of the 600 block of East 16th Street, was arrested on charges of misdemeanor possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. An officer performed an investigative traffic stop on Sistrunk’s vehicle in the area of West Sixth Street and South Kentucky Avenue and found his license was suspended. Investigation at the scene reportedly revealed Sistrunk and a passenger, Dickson, were in possession of marijuana. Dickson was also found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia.

Incidents

Oct. 19

12:05 p.m.: An officer spoke with a complainant in the police department lobby. She said a suspect failed to return leased property to a business. The value of the leased property is $1,127.38. The officer is requesting charges against the suspect of failure to return leased property.

8:40 p.m.: An officer met in the lobby of the police station with a victim who said two suspects tried to get him to fight them. The victim was sitting in his vehicle at a business in the 200 block of West Broadway Boulevard during the incident. One of the suspects reportedly pulled out a Taser while trying to get the victim to fight him. The victim started to drive away, and the second suspect either kicked or punched his vehicle, causing a dent.

Oct. 20

8:40 a.m.: An officer spoke with a complainant about her missing juvenile son. The complainant said her son didn’t come home from school the night before and she had not seen or heard from him since. She said the juvenile has run away before but didn’t know if that was the case this time.

12 p.m.: Daniel L. Mackedanz, 51, of Richland, was arrested in Benton County on a charge of driving while intoxicated.
