Oct. 12 Police Reports

This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Incidents

Oct. 1

5 p.m.: An officer responded to a call at a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard where a subject threatened to walk out of the store without paying for certain food items. Employees in asset protection said they needed to review video footage before pursuing charges. Later on, it was determined the suspect has already been told to leave the property because of two previous theft charges from the store. Asset protection said it wished to pursue charges. The officer will request charges of burglary and theft.

Oct. 2

9 a.m.: The Springfield Police Department forwarded an assault case to Sedalia police. The victim reported a suspect had assaulted her Sept. 10 while staying in the 3400 block of West Broadway Boulevard. The Sedalia officer assigned to the case had not been able to contact the suspect at the time of the report. The officer is requesting charges through the prosecutor’s office.

Oct. 9

12:40 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to Bothwell Regional Health Center for an assault. A woman said her juvenile son was walking to school on the Katy Trail when another juvenile assaulted him. At the time of the report, the officer had not contacted the juvenile suspect. The case is being referred to the Pettis County Juvenile Office.

Oct. 10

11:10 a.m.: A complainant came to the police department to make a report of failure to return rental property. The complainant said the suspect rented to own $2,334.72 in household goods in July and failed to make the required payments. The officer is sending the case to the prosecutor.

2 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 400 block of South Osage Avenue for a report of theft. The victim said someone stole her Discover card out of her wallet and made several purchases with it. The total amount charged on the credit card was $414.01 with an additional $200 in cash stolen from the victim’s purse.

Arrests

Oct. 10

5:42 p.m.: Nathan R. Garriott, 19, of California, was arrested in Moniteau County on charges of driving with a revoked license, not having insurance, not wearing a seat belt and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. Troopers also served a misdemeanor probation violation warrant from Cole County.

5:42 p.m.: Autumn D. Bush, 18, of California, was arrested in Moniteau County on charges of minor in possession of alcohol and not wearing a seat belt.

Oct. 11

12:45 a.m.: Daniel T. Lewis, 57, of Slater, was arrested in Saline County on charges of driving while intoxicated and careless and imprudent driving involving a crash.
