A Huntsville woman is in custody in Pettis County on a warrant for several sexual abuse charges.

Pettis County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Angie Nicole Sheets, 26, on Wednesday after the Moberly Police Department requested assistance in locating her.

Sheets is facing eight felony charges in Randolph County Circuit Court, including first-degree sodomy, two counts of first-degree child molestation, two counts of incest and first-degree rape. She has also been charged in Randolph County with two counts of first-degree endangering the welfare of a child by engaging in sexual conduct.

She remains in the Pettis County Jail on a $25,000 cash-only bond.

Moberly police officers received a report Nov. 13 through the Children’s Division Hotline about possible physical and sexual abuse. A forensic interview with a 9-year-old girl took place Nov. 17 at Rainbow House, a children’s advocacy center and emergency shelter in Columbia.

The girl described multiple incidents of inappropriate touching and sexual activity involving Sheets and her husband, Carl Edward Sheets. These incidents would have occurred on or about August 2014 to June 2016, according to a probable cause statement.

The child said Carl Sheets, 38, committed different sexual acts on her with Sheets watching and, at times, participating. She was able to identify several body parts of male and female anatomy involved in sexual encounters.

Carl Sheets has been charged with 16 felonies, 10 of which relate to sexual conduct. He is facing three counts of incest, three counts of endangering the welfare of a child involving sexual conduct, second-degree sodomy, second-degree statutory sodomy, first-degree rape, second-degree statutory rape and other abuse charges.

He is in custody in the Randolph County Jail with a $500,000 cash-only bond. Judge Cynthia A. Suter sustained a motion of continuance to postpone his Dec. 29 preliminary hearing.
