A Sedalia man is facing felony charges following reports of sexual abuse.

Raul B. Jaquez-Garcia, 32, of the 1800 block of East Broadway Boulevard, has been charged with two felony counts of first-degree child molestation. A Sedalia Police Department officer arrested Jaquez-Garcia on Nov. 20 on several sexual abuse charges. He was issued a $100,000 cash-only bond.

Two girls, age 16 and 17, had interviews Oct. 23 at Child Safe of Central Missouri Inc. in which they described incidents of molestation by Jaquez-Garcia.

Both girls said the suspect touched them inappropriately on top of and underneath their clothing many times over the course of several years, according to court documents.

One identified three specific instances of touching at different residences when she was 6, 14 and 16. She also described two other incidents, one in which Jacquez-Garcia forced her to touch his genitals and another when he showed her pornographic images of women.

The girl disclosed to her school counselor other times in which Jaquez-Garcia rubbed on her inappropriately. The most recent incident occurred Oct. 20 in her residence when the suspect was on the living room couch while she was in the room, according to court documents.

Each time she walked past him, he reportedly would grab her leg and tell her to “come here.” The girl said she knew his hand was in his pants because she could see movement where his genitals would be under the blanket.

“She stated she decided she couldn’t take it anymore so she went to a friend’s house,” the documents state.

The second girl also gave several statements indicating Jacquez-Garcia had touched her, saying it happened “so many times.” She was 6 when the abuse began, according to documents.

Jacquez-Garcia was arraigned Tuesday at the Pettis County Courthouse for the two child molestation charges. His next hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
