A Sedalia teenager has been arrested on six felony charges in connection with an armed robbery.

The Pettis County Sheriff’s Office took Trenten Blane Leary, 17, into custody Monday. He has been charged with first-degree robbery, armed criminal action, second-degree assault and three counts of unlawful use of a weapon.

The Sheriff’s Office received a report at 9:45 p.m. Aug. 8 of the robbery of a 17-year-old boy in the rural Smithton area. The boy said the robbery occurred earlier that evening, during which the suspect fired two shots at him and took his money, according to a Sheriff’s Office press release.

Detectives arrested Leary after an investigation into the incident. He remains at the Pettis County Jail on a $200,000 bond, cash or surety. Neither an attorney nor an arraignment date has been entered onto his court case.
