BENTON COUNTY — The Missouri State Highway Patrol is seeking information on a homicide that happened Tuesday in rural Benton County, east of Lincoln. 

The body of Matthew Reyburn, 21, of Lincoln, was found at approximately 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. 

“We located a deceased, white male in a rural residence of Lincoln, Mo. and just from the overall scene we are conducting this as a homicide investigation,” said MSHP Public Information Officer Sgt. William Lowe.

The Benton County Sheriff’s Office has requested assistance from the MSHP’s Division of Drug and Crime Control. Neither department is releasing any other information on the incident while investigators follow up on leads.
