Livestock producers interested in pasture and forage production and management are invited to attend a pasture walk at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 27. Hosts for the event are Ron and Valerie Dent of Cole Camp.

The Dents’ forage operation consists of a rotational grazing system with paddocks containing cool-season forages, native warm-season forages, and mixes of cool- and warm-season forages. They raise and sell registered Limousin cattle.

The couple have been operating this grazing system for over 20 years and have extensive experience in grazing paddocks that contain both cool- and warm-season forages and managing the challenges that creates. Travis Harper, MU Extension Field Specialist in Agronomy, and Eugene Schmitz will be on hand to help facilitate the discussion.

The pasture walk location is 18867 state Route F and is approximately 4 miles south of Cole Camp on state Route F on the west side of the road. Refreshments will be provided and there is no cost to attend.

For more information, contact Schmitz at or call the Pettis County Extension Center at 660-827-0591.
