The German Club of Cole Camp will host its 28th annual Sängerfest, German music festival, at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 8 in the Jaycee House/Gardens in downtown Cole Camp. Admission is free.

Special guests at this year’s festival will be the Emter family entertaining with accordion music. Roger and Renae Emter have been deeply involved in accordions and polka music for about 30 years. Since 1990, the Emters have performed in 25 states. Located just west of Mandan, North Dakota, they built the Emter Family Theater, a 250-seat auditorium where they regularly perform.

Additional entertainment for the festival includes choral groups from Kansas City and Cole Camp as well as a Cole Camp Kinderchor.

At 1:30 p.m., prior to the start of the Saengerfest, a wreath-laying will take place at the Immigrant Memorial to pay tribute to the immigrants who settled the Cole Camp community.

Food and drinks will be available for a freewill donation.
