Teenagers injured in Johnson County

Two teenagers were hurt in an overturn accident at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday in Johnson County.

Makayla E. Devault, 18, of Holden, lost control of her vehicle while driving east on Northwest 200th Road west of state Route W, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

She overcorrected and traveled off the right side of the roadway. The vehicle then overturned and came to rest on its top.

Devault and a passenger, Victoria A. Ellis, 16, of Kingsville, were wearing seat belts and suffered minor injuries. The Johnson County Ambulance District took both to Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence.

Six hospitalized after Morgan crash

A two-vehicle collision injured six people at 2:04 p.m. Wednesday in Morgan County.

The accident occurred at state Route 5 and state Route J as an eastbound driver, Veda K. Reeves, 42, of Versailles, made a left turn into the path of a southbound vehicle driven by Richard M. Barnett, 84, of Gravois Mills, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

All the drivers and passengers involved in the collision were wearing seat belts.

Reeves suffered moderate injuries while three others in her vehicle were hurt. Author D. Hanson, 86, of Versailles, suffered serious injuries. A Staff For Life helicopter flew him to University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia.

Jordan R. Hanson, 8, of Versailles, and Julia D. Wildhagen, 15, of Sunrise Beach, both had minor injuries. The two girls and Reeves went by ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach.

Barnett and a passenger, Mary L. Barnett, 79, suffered moderate injuries. Both went by ambulance to St. Mary’s Hospital in Jefferson City.
