Rolling car injures pedestrian

A man is in serious condition after an unoccupied truck rolled and struck him at 9 a.m. Thursday in Morgan County.

Billie L. Sass, 61, of Stover, was struck as the vehicle rolled backwards on Wilderness Drive 68 feet east of Wilderness Way, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

Sass suffered serious injuries in the accident. A Staff for Life helicopter flew him to Columbia where he received treatment at University of Missouri Hospital.

Rear-end collision injures two

Two people were hurt in a Morgan County rear-end collision at 11:55 a.m. Thursday.

Michelle L. Boggs, 38, of Barnett, was stopped in traffic on westbound state Route 52 east of Sale Barn Road when Jean M. Smith, 74, of Versailles, struck her from behind, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

Boggs and a passenger, Donna K, Unice, 60, of Eldon, received minor injuries in the collision. Both had been wearing seat belts and went by ambulance to St. Mary’s Hospital in Jefferson City.

Smith was wearing a seat belt and was unhurt in the accident.
