Posted

A Green Ridge man was killed at 11:15 a.m. Monday after colliding with a semi-truck in Pettis County.

Gerald W. Grable, 68, was driving on northbound U.S. Route 65 at Route J when the westbound semi-truck crossed the highway, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report. He struck the towed unit of the truck as it crossed in front of his vehicle.

Grable, who had been wearing a seat belt, was killed in the collision. Pettis County Coroner Skip Smith pronounced him dead at the scene.

The semi-truck driver, Eric W. Brown, of Jefferson City, wasn’t hurt in the accident.

Grable was taken to the Boone County Medical Examiner’s Office and later to Rea Funeral Chapel in Sedalia.

Information is taken from preliminary Missouri State Highway Patrol reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved.
