Man killed in Pettis accident

A Cole Camp man was killed in a vehicle-tractor accident at 3:32 p.m. Sunday in Pettis County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Richard R. Long, 70, of Lincoln, was driving north on U.S. Route 65 at state Route V when his vehicle overtook and struck a tractor driven by Lyle E. McMilin, 62. After impact, Long’s vehicle struck McMilin.

McMilin was pronounced dead at the scene by Pettis County Coroner Robert Smith. Long, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken by ambulance to Bothwell Regional Health Center for treatment of minor injuries.

Kingsville resident killed in Johnson accident

A Kingsville woman was killed in a two-vehicle accident at 5:30 p.m. Saturday in Johnson County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, June K. Kueser, 84, was driving east on U.S. Route 50 at 1601st Road when she failed to yield to a semi-truck driven west by Parvez K. Mahey, 40, of Shawnee, Kansas. Kueser pulled into the path of Mahey’s vehicle, striking it on the right rear side.

Kueser was taken by Life Flight Air Ambulance to Research Medical Center in Kansas City where she was pronounced dead by Dr. Benuitt Blondeau.

Reports indicate both drivers were wearing a seat belt.

Warsaw man seriously injured

A Warsaw man was seriously injured in a vehicle accident at 6 p.m. Friday in Benton County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Earl D. Lumsden, 79, was driving east in the 29000 block of state Route MM when his vehicle traveled off the roadway, striking a fence before coming to rest on its roof.

Lumsden, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken by air ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia.
