Three hurt in two-vehicle collision

A two-vehicle accident left three people injured at 3:35 p.m. Tuesday in Saline County.

Christopher M. Stockman, 46, of Slater, was driving east at 260th Road and Thompson Lane when he struck a tractor-trailer traveling south, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

Both vehicles traveled off of the roadway and struck the ground. The tractor-trailer, driven by Michael L. Deibel, 67, of Marshall, came to a rest in a field, and Stockman’s truck continued sliding out of control before stopping in the field.

Neither Stockman nor a passenger, John M. Stockman, 20, of Slater, was wearing a seat belt during the accident. Both suffered moderate injuries and went by Life Flight helicopter to University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia.

Deibel was wearing a seat belt and had minor injuries. He went in a private vehicle to Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
