This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

July 20

8:30 p.m.: Cheryl Renee Ellison, 40, of the 1800 block of West Fourth Street, was issued a municipal court summons at her residence for assault. The complainant reported they were assaulted earlier that day. An officer made contact with the suspect at the residence and issued a summons.

July 21

12:27 a.m.: Taylor N.M. McIntyre, 19, of the 400 block of East 13th Street, was issued a municipal court summons near the intersection of South Lamine Avenue and East 16th Street for minor in possession of alcohol. Officers had responded to a disturbance and issued the summons to a subject.

1:33 a.m.: Derrick James Seeley, 27, of Cole Camp, was arrested near the intersection of North Ohio Avenue and West Pettis Street on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest. Officers stopped a subject walking in the middle of Pettis where a sidewalk was available. The suspect saw the patrol car and resisted arrest by running from officers. Officers learned he had six Pettis County warrants and further investigation revealed he was in possession of methamphetamine and related paraphernalia.

9:15 p.m.: Brittany Bond, 27, of Warrensburg, was issued a municipal court summons near the intersection of West Broadway Boulevard and South Missouri Avenue for open container. A traffic stop was conducted for a vehicle that stopped in the middle of Broadway during a green light, impeding traffic. Investigation revealed an occupant had an open container of alcohol.

July 22

12:11 a.m.: Nathan C. Krueger, 18, of the 500 block of East 36th Street, was arrested in the 800 block of East Broadway Boulevard on a charge of possession of marijuana. A traffic stop was conducted for a vehicle with no front license plate.

Incidents

July 20

6:42 p.m.: A complainant reported they let their dog out of the house in the 900 block of Winchester Drive and they believe the dog was stolen once it was outside.

July 21

9:58 a.m.: A complainant reported that overnight someone broke into the fenced area of a business in the 600 block of West Benton Street and stole a trailer with a John Deere tractor on it.

July 22

3:31 a.m.: SPD and the Sedalia Fire Department were dispatched to a report of a vehicle fire in the 100 block of Summer Avenue. Upon arrival, they found two vehicles fully engulfed in flames. There was also damage to a nearby home. SFD was unable to determine the cause of the fire.

8:07 a.m.: An officer responded to the 600 block of North Missouri Avenue for a report of suspicious activity. A male subject said he found several spent bullet casings in the park’s parking lot. A trash can also appeared to have a bullet hole.

July 19

11:12 a.m.: Benjamin A. Labus, 49, of Sedalia, was arrested in Johnson County on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, speeding and no seat belt. Troopers also served a misdemeanor Jackson County warrant.

July 20

12:19 p.m.: Lucas A. Santellano, 21, of Osceola, was arrested in Henry County on charges of possession of a controlled substance (xanax), possession of marijuana and failure to register with the Department of Revenue.

7:06 p.m.: Russell A. Dafford, 23, of Country Club, was arrested in Benton County on a charge of sex offender present in a state park.

7:21 p.m.: Edwin A. Carrillo, 27, of Hempstead, New York, was arrested in Saline County on charges of possession of a controlled substance (marijuana) and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.

7:27 p.m.: Shane R. Chesher, 32, of Windsor, was arrested in Henry County on charges of fourth-degree domestic assault, driving while intoxicated, second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, and careless and imprudent driving.

9:56 p.m.: Roy L. Vickers, 37, of Green Ridge, was arrested in Pettis County on charges of driving while intoxicated and driving with a revoked license.

July 21

10:35 p.m.: William B. Johnson, 26, of Pawnee City, Nebraska, was arrested in Morgan County on charges of displaying lights other than prescribed on watercraft, no navigation lights and boating while intoxicated.

July 22

6:16 p.m.: Story D. Asbell, 34, and Larry J. Asbell, both of Orleans, Indiana, were both arrested in Saline County on charges of possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
