Man killed in major collision
A motorcyclist was killed and three others were injured in a four-vehicle collision at noon Friday in Morgan County.
Michael L. Benton, 51, of Wentzville, died after he was ejected from his motorcycle in the accident, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report. Andrew J. Jackson, 31, of Gravois Mills, was southbound on state Route 5 north of Valley Road when he crossed the center line and struck the rear end of a northbound vehicle, driven by William R. Vogt, 54, of Barnett.
Jackson’s vehicle then collided with the northbound motorcycle, causing Benton to be ejected. The motorcycle struck another vehicle, driven by Stephanie N. Flood, 29, of Stover.
Benton was pronounced dead at the scene and was taken to Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home. He was wearing a helmet when the collision occurred.
Jackson was not wearing a seat belt and suffered serious injuries. A Staff for Life helicopter flew him to the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia. A passenger in his vehicle, Nathan Jackson, 13, of Gravois Mills, was wearing a seat belt and suffered moderate injuries. He went in an ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach.
Vogt was not wearing a seat belt and received minor injuries. He refused medical treatment at the scene. Flood was not injured in the collision.
Two teens hurt in Pettis crash
Two Green Ridge teenagers were injured in a Pettis County overturn crash at 5:40 p.m. Saturday.
Jordan J. Cornett-Williams, 16, was traveling east on Bryson Road east of Oxline Road when she lost control on gravel, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report. Her vehicle traveled off the roadway and overturned as it came back onto to the road, coming to a rest on its top.
Cornett-Williams and a passenger, Allani M. Grifin, 16, were wearing seat belts and suffered minor injuries. The Pettis County Ambulance District took them to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.
Woman overturns in Benton County
A woman was injured in a single-vehicle overturn crash at 8:40 a.m. Sunday in Benton County.
Carolyn S. Price, 50, of Edwards, was driving west on Poorboy Road when she traveled off the right side of the roadway and went through a ditch, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report. She traveled back onto the roadway and went off the left side, where her vehicle overturned and came to a rest on the passenger’s side of the car.
Price suffered minor injuries and went to Bothwell Regional Health Center in a private vehicle. She was wearing a seat belt during the accident.
Louisiana man in Henry crash
A Louisiana man was hurt in a Henry County crash at 6:40 p.m. Sunday.
Jeffrey R. Poynter, 53, of Haynesville, Louisiana, was southbound on Route Y north of Northeast 600th Road when he traveled off the right side of the roadway and overturned, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.
Poynter was wearing a seat belt and suffered minor injuries. He went in an ambulance to Western Missouri Medical Center for treatment.
