Three hurt in rear-end collision

A two-vehicle collision left an adult and two children injured at 4:50 p.m. Friday in Johnson County.

Sean C. Grindstaff, 32, of Warrensburg, slowed to make a right turn from southbound state Route 13 into a private drive south of Northwest 875th Road, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report. Cameron R. Venters, 31, of La Monte, struck the rear of Grindstaff’s vehicle.

Venters and Grindstaff were unhurt, but three passengers in Grindstaff’s car were injured. Eliza

C. Grindstaff, 29, of Warrensburg, wasn’t wearing a seat belt and had moderate injuries. Charity G. Grindstaff, 4, and Gabriel A. Grindstaff, 6, both of Warrensburg, were wearing seat belts and had minor injuries.

All three passengers went in by ambulance to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.

Smithton woman hurt

A Smithton woman was injured in a Pettis County accident at 3:15 p.m. Saturday.

The collision occurred as Trace A. Garrison, 21, of Sedalia, was driving west on McVey Road and failed to stop at a stop sign at Route M, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report. Lola A. Smith, 47, of Smithton, was northbound on Route M when Garrison drove into her path.

The two vehicles collided, leaving Smith with minor injuries. Both drivers were wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. Smith chose to seek medical treatment on her own.
