Sedalia man in serious condition

A Sedalia man was injured in a Pettis County crash at 1:22 p.m. Friday.

Paul N. Waller, 59, was northbound on U.S. Route 65 past Spring Garden Road when he lost control on the slush-covered roadway, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report. His vehicle slid into the median and overturned.

Waller suffered serious injuries. He wasn’t wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. He received treatment at University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia.

Houstonia woman overturns

Snowy conditions caused a Houstonia woman to overturn at 2:45 p.m. Friday.

Dorothy Norfleet, 82, was driving north on U.S. Route 65 in Pettis County when her car began to slide on the snow-covered roadway south of Deer Park Road, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report. The car traveled off the right side of the highway and rolled over.

Norfleet was wearing a seat belt and had minor injuries. She received medical attention at Bothwell Regional Health Center.

Stover teen taken to Bothwell

A teenager from Stover was hurt in a single-vehicle crash Friday.

At 3:20 p.m., Devin L. Isbell, 18, was driving east on state Route 52 in Morgan County, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report. He traveled off the right side of the road about 200 feet west of Bridge Lane where his vehicle struck a wooden post and a tree.

Isbell sustained moderate injuries and went in an ambulance to Bothwell Regional Health Center. It is unknown whether he was wearing a seat belt during the crash.

Two killed in Henry County

A woman and a teenager from Urich were killed in a Henry County collision Friday.

At 4:10 p.m., Deann M. Phillips, 53, was driving on Route 7 north of Clinton with Olivia Phillips, 14, when she lost control of her vehicle on the snow-covered roadway, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report. Her vehicle traveled directly into the path of a large Freightliner truck.

Henry County Coroner Dain Sisk pronounced Deann and Olivia dead at the scene. Both were wearing seat belts during the collision.

The truck driver, Zackery D. Gardiner, 33, of Lansing, Kansas, was unhurt.

Woman injured off of U.S. 50

A Warrensburg woman was injured in a crash off of U.S. Route 50 in Johnson County on Friday.

Nancy A. Huff, 54, was westbound on the highway past Northwest 601st Road at 4:31 p.m. when she attempted to merge from the left lane into the right lane, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

She began to slide on the slush-covered roadway and continued off the right side of the highway. Her truck traveled down a steep embankment and struck a tree head-on. The truck rotated clockwise and came to a rest facing north.

Huff was wearing a seat belt and suffered moderate injuries. She received treatment at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.

Vehicle overturns in Johnson County

A Whiteman Air Force Base resident was hurt in a rollover crash at 7:15 p.m. Friday in Johnson County.

Kurtis A. Chase, 29, was driving west on U.S. Route 50 when he lost control of his vehicle east of Northwest 501st Road, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

His vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck a ditch. It continued through the ditch and onto a steep embankment. The car then overturned onto its right side.

Chase was wearing a seat belt and had minor injuries. He went in a private vehicle to Western Missouri Medical Center.

Sedalian strikes guardrail

A Sedalia woman needed hospital treatment after a crash Saturday in Pettis County.

Rebecca E. Smith, 41, was northbound on U.S. Route 65 at 9:20 a.m. when she lost control of her vehicle north of Route BB, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report. She struck a snow-packed guardrail and suffered minor injuries.

Smith was wearing a seat belt during the accident. She took a private vehicle to Bothwell Regional Health Center.
