Centerview man seriously injured in crash

A Centerview man was seriously injured in a two-vehicle accident at 6:15 p.m. Friday. 

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Barbara Mahan, 80, of Osceola, was traveling eastbound on U.S. Route 50 In Johnson County when a vehicle driven by Gary M. Tate, 47, struck the corner of her vehicle. 

Mahan’s vehicle was overturned, traveled off the right side of the roadway and came to rest half a mile west of state Route 131. 

Tate suffered serious injuries and was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital by Johnson County Ambulance District. 

Two injured in Pettis vehicle accident 

An 11-year-old and 13-year-old were injured in a vehicle accident at 9:55 p.m. Sunday in Pettis County. 

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the accident happened at a residence in the 30000 of Harding Road. A vehicle traveled up a mound of dirt and rolled backward, pinning Aleksey A. Verbovshchuk, and Samuel A. Verbovshchuk, both of Sacramento, California, underneath the vehicle. 

Aleksey suffered serious injuries and was transported to Children’s Mercy Hospital by Air Evacuation Lifeteam. Samuel suffered minor injuries and was taken to Children’s Mercy Hospital by private vehicle.
