Two killed in Benton crash

Two Warsaw residents were killed in a single-vehicle accident at 2:30 p.m. March 15 in Benton County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Kurt B. Eisinger, 62, of Warsaw, was driving west on Highway H, east of Heits Point Avenue, when he traveled off the right side of the road, overcorrected, and then traveled off the left side of the road. The car struck a rock cliff, overturned and came to rest on the road. 

Two passengers, Barbara S. Adams, 66, and Johnnie R. Adams, 64, were pronounced dead at the scene by the deputy coroner. Rodney Pettis, 5, of Sedalia, suffered minor injuries and was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center. 

Reports indicate none of the occupants were wearing a seat belt.

Eisinger was arrested on charges of two counts of involuntary manslaughter, driving while intoxicated, and endangering the welfare of a child, according to an MSHP arrest report. 

Three hurt in Moniteau accident

Three people were injured in a two-vehicle accident at 5:25 p.m. March 15 in Moniteau County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Cynthia R. Taylor, 35, of Clarksburg, was traveling east on U.S. Highway 50 near Koerkenmeier Road. Taylor crossed the center line and her vehicle struck the driver’s side of another vehicle driven by Don H. Humphrey, 69, of Versailles. Humphrey’s vehicle traveled off the east side of the road and overturned. 

Taylor’s passenger, Mathayus H. Price, 5, of Clarksburg, suffered minor injuries and was transported by Mid-Missouri Ambulance District to Capital Regional Medical Center in Jefferson City. Humphrey and his passenger, Carmiletta D. Humphrey, 76, suffered minor injuries and were transported Mid-Missouri Ambulance District to Bothwell Regional Health Center. 

Two injured in Pettis crash

A Sedalia man was seriously injured in a single-vehicle accident at 11:23 a.m. March 17 in Pettis County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Jake R. Couchman, 21, of Sedalia, was driving north on Highway O, north of Highway HH. Couchman’s vehicle traveled off the right side of the road and struck a tree. 

Couchman suffered serious injuries and was taken by Life Flight to University Hospital in Columbia. Occupant Daylin M. Aldrich, 21, of Sedalia, suffered moderate injuries and was transported by the Pettis County Ambulance District to Bothwell Regional Health Center. 

Fatal accident in Johnson

A toddler was killed in an accident at 3:32 p.m. March 17 in Johnson County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Nicholaus D. Failer, 35, of Windsor, was traveling eastbound in the 900 block of Southeast 900 Road. Failer was pulling his vehicle forward when Isabelle J. Failer, 3, fell from the vehicle and was run over by the attached trailer. She was pronounced dead at the scene by Coroner Clark Holdren.
