Car strikes pedestrian

A woman needed hospital treatment after a vehicle struck her on Friday in Benton County.

The accident occurred at 10:19 a.m. as Robert L. Trefz, 75, of Warsaw, was backing up his vehicle in his private driveway in the 12000 block of Denver Road, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report. He struck Janice S. Trefz, 72, causing moderate injuries.

Janice Trefz received treatment at Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach.

One injured in Benton crash

A single-vehicle crash left one person injured at 4 p.m. Friday in Benton County.

Alan B. Osko, 55, of Lincoln, was westbound on Route H when he traveled off the roadway 1 mile east of Kronke Trail and struck a tree, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

A passenger, Teresa A. Fisher, 52, of Lincoln, suffered moderate injuries in the accident. Neither she nor Osko wore a seat belt. An ambulance from Cole Camp took her to Bothwell Regional Health Center for treatment.

Wrong-lane driving causes accident

A vehicle traveling in the wrong lane of Route DD led to a Johnson County collision Friday.

Junga R. Chae, 39, of Warrensburg, was driving west on the road at 8:58 p.m. when she saw an eastbound vehicle coming toward her in the westbound lane, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report. As she slowed her vehicle, it began to slide.

Chae struck the front of the eastbound vehicle, driven by Darrin L. McGee, 26, of Warrensburg, and traveled off the north side of the roadway. McGee came to a rest in the westbound lane facing east.

Chae and a passenger, Cory P. Allin, 35, of Warrensburg, were wearing seat belts and had minor injuries. McGee, who had been wearing a seat belt, also had minor injuries.

The Johnson County Ambulance District took Chae and Allin to Research Medical Center in Kansas City. McGee was transported from the scene to an unspecified location.

Teenagers hurt in ATV crash

Two teenagers were injured at 3 p.m. Saturday as an ATV overturned in Benton County.

Nicole I. Say, 14, of Edwards, was driving the ATV on private property on Daisy Drive north of Route AA, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report. The vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and overturned.

The ATV ejected a passenger, Jacob M. Harvath, 14, of Warsaw, and it landed on top of him, causing serious injuries. Say suffered moderate injuries in the accident. Neither was wearing a helmet or seat belt while riding the vehicle.

Harvath and Say went to Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach for treatment.

Sedalians crash in Johnson County

A child from Sedalia was hurt in a single-vehicle crash Sunday in Johnson County.

At 1:55 p.m., Krystal J. Marquess, 32, of Sedalia, was eastbound on U.S. Route 50 when she lost control of her vehicle east of Northeast 641st Road, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report. Her vehicle traveled off the south side of the highway and struck an embankment.

A passenger in the car, Blaze Burgin, 12, of Sedalia, suffered moderate injuries. Marquess and Burgin both wore seat belts during the accident.

The Johnson County Ambulance District took Burgin to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg for treatment.

Snowy conditions cause accident

Two people were hurt as their vehicle lost traction on a snow-covered highway in Johnson County.

Robert W. Chapman Jr., 22, of Whiteman Air Force Base, was driving east on U.S. Route 50 at 2:43 p.m. Sunday when his car began to slide, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report. It traveled off the left side of the highway, struck an embankment and overturned.

Chapmanā€™s vehicle came to a rest in the median facing southwest. He and a passenger, Jasmine R. Hardy, 19, of Whiteman AFB, sustained minor injuries. Both were wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Chapman and Hardy received treatment at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.

Pedestrian struck on highway

A man was hurt while trying to push a vehicle back onto U.S. Route 50 at 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

Jeffrey J. Hoover, 33, of Holden, was attempting to push the vehicle back onto the highway east of Route AA in Johnson County when it lost control and struck him, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

The Johnson County Ambulance District took Hoover to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.

Snowfall causes Pettis crash

A Fenton woman was hurt Sunday while crashing off of U.S. Route 65 in Pettis County.

Shelby L. Orf, 25, was southbound when she lost control on the snow-covered roadway north of Cedar Creek, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report. Her vehicle slid off the road as it rotated clockwise.

After leaving the roadway, Orf struck several small trees before coming to a rest off the west side of U.S. 65. She was wearing a seat belt and had minor injuries. The Pettis County Ambulance District took Orf to Bothwell Regional Health Center.
